Chapter 977 Couldn't Bear to See Him Suffer
William almost killed Madison too.
"Madison, I'm sorry for scaring you last time."
"Alexander, I thought he had destroyed all the surveillance cameras, but I didn't expect there to be another one."
Alexander said, "There is a pinhole camera here, just as a backup to prevent intrusion. This time it came in handy."
Madison nodded with a smile. "So what do you plan to do with the video?"
Alexander replied, "I plan to hand it over to the police. This is a serious crime, and he should get at least a decade in prison."
"Giving him a decade is too lenient," Madison said. "He was trying to kill us. If it weren't for your quick thinking, he would have killed us both. He's truly vicious."
"Madison," Alexander put his arm around her waist, saying, "no matter what, we're both alive now. William will pay for everything he's done. I'll hire the best lawyer to prosecute him. His crime starts at a decade, but I hope he gets life imprisonment, so he stays in prison forever."
Madison nodded happily. "Alexander, that's exactly what we should do."
She snuggled into his arms, holding him. "Alexander, I can't tolerate anyone hurting you. When do you plan to hand over the video to the police?"
Alexander said, "I'll take you to the hospital tomorrow, and then I'll hand it over to the police."
"Alexander, you can hand it over to the police first and then accompany me to the hospital."
Alexander said, "Madison, handing over the video to the police will require cooperating with their investigation, which will take time. If you go to the hospital in the morning, it will be done by noon. Then in the afternoon, I can hand it over to the police and have more time to cooperate with their investigation. You'll also need to testify."
Madison responded, "You're right, I overlooked that."
"It's okay," Alexander said, holding her. "Madison, you should go back to sleep."
"What about you?"
"I'll sit here for a while. You go ahead and sleep." He couldn't sleep.
"Alright then." Madison stood up. "I won't disturb you, but Alexander, promise me one thing."
"What is it?"
"Don't drink anymore. I'm worried about your stomach. Last time you drank, you ended up in the hospital."
Every time Alexander drank, it tortured his stomach, as if he didn't care about his life. She felt so heartbroken.
"I won't drink anymore," Alexander said with a smile. "Don't worry."
"Really?" Madison said, "Alexander, promise me you won't drink anymore."
"I really won't. I only had a little before, it's not a big deal."
"You're lying. When you came back, you reeked of alcohol. It wasn't just a little. Alexander, have you forgotten how you ended up in the hospital last time?"
Madison didn't want to nag, but if she didn't say anything, Alexander would keep harming his body. She couldn't bear to see him suffer.
Alexander closed his laptop and sighed softly. "Madison, I won't harm my body anymore. How about this, I promise to go to the hospital with you tomorrow and get a check-up myself."
Madison nodded. "Alright, Alexander, I'll go rest now. You should rest early too."
"Okay." Alexander smiled at her. "Go to sleep."
Madison reluctantly left.
Every few steps, she looked back at him until she went upstairs.
Alexander closed his laptop, placed it on the table beside him, and leaned back on the sofa, rubbing his nose.
His eyes were full of exhaustion.
