"Mia has already signed it, Mr. Mitchell. You should sign it too."
George couldn't believe it, but he saw Mia's handwriting on the divorce agreement.
"How is this possible? How could this be?"
George, in a fit of emotion, tore up the divorce agreement.
All of this seemed to be within Brandon's expectations.
"I don't believe your nonsense!" George stood up angrily. "I want to see her. If you don't let me see her, I won't be polite to you. Where is she now? Tell me!"
"Dad, don't be like this." Ava stood up. "Calm down and let's talk this through."
"Talk about what?" George shoved Ava aside.
Ava lost her balance and fell, but luckily, she landed on the sofa.
"Dad, what are you doing?" Alexander said angrily. "Why are you taking your anger out on Ava? She didn't do anything wrong."
Alexander hurried to Ava's side. "Ava, are you okay?"
Ava shook her head. "I'm fine."
Then, Ava said to Brandon, "Mr. Smith, divorce is between the two of them. They need to meet to discuss it. It's not appropriate for you to deliver the divorce agreement."
Brandon nodded in agreement. "You're right, but she doesn't want to see him right now. I can call her, and you can talk to her."
Brandon took out his phone from his pocket.
He then dialed Mia's number.
Mia answered.
Brandon put the call on speaker. "Mia, I have you on speaker. Talk to them. They don't quite believe me."
George snatched Brandon's phone.
"Mia, what is going on?"
"I want you to sign the divorce agreement. I don't want to be with you anymore. I have a new boyfriend now. We should have divorced a long time ago."
"Mia, we should talk face to face. Can we meet? Where are you now?"
"I don't want to see you right now because I know you'll get emotional, and I can't talk to you. I really don't want to drag this out any longer."
"Mia," George's tone was pleading. "Our son is all grown up now."
"If you know Alexander is all grown up, then you should be decisive," Mia said coldly. "I believe Alexander won't object. Our unhappy marriage can't continue any longer."
George's body trembled. He turned to Alexander. "Alexander, talk to your mom."
"Mom, are you safe right now?" Alexander asked.
Mia said, "Don't worry, I'm very safe. I'm perfectly fine. Alexander, I'm sorry, but I can't live with your dad anymore. You're grown up now, and I believe you can understand my feelings. Even if I divorce your dad, you're still my son. Our relationship as mother and son will never change."
Alexander sighed lightly, then turned to George. "Dad, Mom has said it. She's definitely safe now. Don't make things difficult for her, okay?"
"What do you mean?" George's emotions were running high. "Do you agree with our divorce too?"
"Mom has wanted to divorce you for a long time. We've talked about it many times."
"So what? Even if she wants a divorce, she should say it to my face. What is she doing now?"
George was losing his sanity.
"If she says it to your face, will you accept it?" Alexander asked. "Dad, you were the one who cheated first. Mom should have divorced you a long time ago. She's endured for so many years. You have no right to criticize her. Think about it, haven't you brought her nothing but pain? If you really love her, let her go. Don't make her suffer anymore."
