Chapter 1002 Sending Him to Jail

Alexander paused for a moment before saying, "Don't tell Madison about this yet."

"Got it, Mr. Mitchell," the doctor replied.

"I've got some other stuff to handle. I'll come back for the biopsy later," Alexander said. He needed to sort out William's mess first.

On his way to find Madison after leaving the doctor's office, Alexander bumped into Ava. They stood in the hallway, a few feet apart, just staring at each other.

After what felt like forever, Ava started walking again, acting like she hadn't seen him. She figured there was nothing left to say between them.

Out of nowhere, Alexander said, "Say a proper goodbye to William."

Ava frowned and looked up at him. "What do you mean by that?"

"William's going to jail. You two don't have much time left together," Alexander replied.

Ava's face went stiff. "Why is he going to jail?"

"He broke into my house with armed bodyguards, trying to kill me and Madison. Breaking and entering with a firearm and attempted murder are serious crimes. I've decided to report him and press charges. I've already hired a lawyer; he's not getting away with it," Alexander explained.

"Alexander, wasn't that already settled? Why are you pressing charges now?" Ava asked.

With a bitter smile, Alexander said, "It's not over. If I don't do this, he'll just try again."

"William was just impulsive; he didn't really want to kill you. Why are you..." Ava started.

"Ava," Alexander cut her off, "why do you always believe him and not me?"

Ava snorted, "Alexander, why do you always believe Isabella and Madison but not me? You don't know why? Let me tell you, it's because we never had trust. Our decade-long relationship was all fake, worthless. It took this mess to realize that years of knowing each other mean nothing. People who are truly meant to be together will trust each other even if they've only known each other for a few days."

Their downfall was due to the lack of trust, which might have been the catalyst for their current situation.

If they had trusted each other from the beginning, Alexander wouldn't have asked for a divorce but would have bravely told Ava that he loved her, and Ava would have had the courage to tell him she was pregnant, even if he had asked for a divorce.

But in the end, Alexander divorced her for another woman. Therefore, Ava thought that trying to keep him with their child was pointless because he had destroyed her trust.

Alexander was at a loss for words.

"Ava, I know you'll hate me, but William is definitely going to jail. I'm heading to the police station now." He raised his hand, holding a USB drive. "This is the evidence of William breaking into my house."

With that, Alexander started to leave, but Ava stopped him.

"Are you really going to let William go to jail?" Although Ava didn't know much about Stellaria's law, she knew that breaking into someone's house with a firearm was a serious crime. "He was just anxious to find me at the time."

"Do you really think that's all it was?" Alexander asked.

"Of course. What else could I think?" Ava replied.

"William really wanted to kill me," Alexander reminded her.

"Alexander, you wanted to kill him too. You wanted him dead. It's just because William couldn't get any dirt on you that he couldn't send you to jail," Ava argued.

"Ava, do you still think that what happened to William back then was my doing?" Alexander retorted.
