Chapter 70 Go See Alexander
"He's pretty lucky. The car got all messed up, but he's fine, no major injuries, no broken arms or legs. He'll be fine in a few days. Don't worry."
Hearing Mia's words, Ava breathed a sigh of relief. "That's good. But why did that suddenly happen to him?"
"Fatigue driving," Mia said. "He hit a lamppost while driving last night."
"Fatigue driving? Why? Is it because of me?" The more Ava thought about it, the more uneasy she felt.
"Because of you? What do you mean?" Mia asked curiously.
"The night before last, he stayed with me all night and didn't sleep well," Ava answered.
"When did he leave then?"
Ava replied, "He left early yesterday morning. I thought he went back to rest. Sorry, Mom, it's my fault. I should've reminded him to go back to sleep. It's my fault."
"Well, I don't think so," Mia said calmly, "Even a three-year-old knows to sleep when tired, but he doesn't. He chose to be a sleepy driver, so no one else but himself could be blamed. Who knows what he's been doing all day? Maybe he stayed up all night at your place and then spent the next day with Isabella."
Hearing Mia say this, Ava couldn't help feeling sad, wondering, 'Is it true? Did he really go to Isabella?'
"Mom, how do you know that? Is this one of your guesses?"
"It's obvious, okay? I mean, he's a man." After that, Mia stood up and picked up her bag. "All right. Rest well. I gotta go."
Just as she reached the door, she turned around. "Oh, by the way, Alex told me not to tell you about his car accident, so just pretend you don't know, okay?"
"He told you that? Why?" Ava was confused.
"Don't know. And I don't care." Mia seemed indifferent. As a decisive person, she left directly after finishing her words.
Since Mia left, Ava had been worrying about Alexander.
Amelia came to see her, and Ava told her everything.
"Amelia, I wanna go see him," Ava said with worry.
"No, you can't run around. The doctor said that you have to stay in bed these days, remember?" Amelia rejected it.
"But I'm really worried. I can't rest well without knowing how he is," Ava said earnestly.
Although Mia said Alex was fine, Ava still felt uneasy.
"What's there to worry about? You've already signed the divorce papers. He has nothing to do with you now, okay?" Amelia sighed helplessly.
She thought Ava was excellent but too naive when it came to love.
Ava grabbed her hand tightly. "Please, help me. I'm really worried about him."
"Fine." Amelia couldn't refuse her. "I'll go after work to check on him for you."
"That's great. Thank you, Amelia," Ava said gratefully, "You must take a good look at him."
"So, you mean I should stand closely in front of him and stare at him?"
"No, that's not what I mean," Ava said awkwardly, "You can't let him see you, just sneak a peek."
"Well. I don't even know why I'm doing this for you." Amelia sighed again.
She thought, 'Even I can tell how much Ava loves Alexander. Why Alexander himself can't? He even wants to divorce Ava! What a dumb ass!'
