Chapter 740 Want to Make It Up to You

Mia was floored.

She gaped at the man in front of her. "What did you just say?"

Dalton's eyes were bloodshot, and he gripped her shoulders tightly. "Mia, William is our son. He didn't die back then. I've kept him with me all these years."

Mia shook her head in disbelief. "No way. That's impossible."

"It's true!" Dalton insisted.

"Let go of me!" Mia shouted.

She tried to pull away, convinced Dalton was lying. How could William be her son?

Mia struggled, but Dalton held her firm. "Mia, calm down and listen to me!"

"I don't want to hear it! Let go! William is your son with Hailey, not mine! Stop lying to me!" Mia yelled, fighting to break free.

"He is your son. Hailey and I only have a daughter, Vicky! William is ours. I'm not lying! If I am, may I die a horrible death!" Dalton said, desperate.

"No, I don't believe you! Oaths mean nothing. If they did, there wouldn't be any bad people in the world!" Mia laughed hysterically. "He's Hailey's son, not mine. I saw her pregnant with your child. That child couldn't be Vicky; she's younger than William. Did she stay pregnant for years before having Vicky?"

Dalton explained, "Hailey wasn't pregnant. She faked it."

"What?" Mia looked at him, stunned. "She faked it?"

"Yes," Dalton said. "Her parents didn't approve of us. She faked a pregnancy to marry me. She knew about us and that you were pregnant with my child. I agreed to give her our child after you gave birth."

Mia was speechless, her mind reeling.

"So, Hailey knew about us. She knew I was pregnant, but still wanted to marry you. She asked for my child. You lied to me, said my child was dead, but he became Hailey's son!"

Mia was in shock.

Dalton nodded painfully. "Yes, our child didn't die. He grew up in the Bennett family; he is William. If you don't believe me, do a DNA test. He really is your son."

Mia clenched her fist and slapped Dalton hard. "You bastard! How could you do this? You took my child, lied to me for years, and now you tell me you gave my child to another woman. I wish you never told me the truth!"

Her son was taken by the man she once loved and raised by another woman. All these years, she thought her child was dead.

Now, she knew the truth. The person she despised, the one she cursed, was her son.

"I'm sorry, Mia, I'm sorry," Dalton pleaded. "I know I was wrong, but I had no choice. It was my only chance. I admit I was a bastard. Please, give me a chance to make it up to you."
