Chapter 1145 Trapped in a Loop
Ava stood at the doorway, watching Alexander soothe Sunny. She paused.
It didn't take long for Alexander to calm Sunny down.
Seeing Sunny stop crying, he showed a gentle smile.
"I'll leave soon, won't disturb you. You and your mom should go to bed early."
He carefully placed Sunny on the bed, but as soon as he let go, Sunny started crying again.
Alexander picked Sunny up again, soothing, "What's wrong, Sunny?"
After holding Sunny for a while, Sunny stopped crying and started smiling.
"Sunny, be good and go to sleep, okay?"
At this moment, Ava stepped forward, "Alexander."
Hearing Ava's voice, Alexander snapped back to reality, realizing he might have overstepped.
"Sorry, I heard Sunny crying and rushed in without your permission. Here you go."
He didn't know why, but hearing Sunny cry made his heart ache, and he felt an urgent need to comfort him, almost like a responsibility.
Alexander stepped forward and handed Sunny to her.
Ava reached out and took Sunny, "Thank you. You should head back now. Drive safely, it's already very late."
Alexander took one last look at Sunny in Ava's arms, reluctant to leave.
But just then, Sunny started crying again, waving his little hands in the air, trying to grab something, his mouth wide open, tears streaming down.
"Sunny," Ava hurriedly soothed Sunny, "It's okay, I'm here, don't cry. Mommy's here, don't be scared." Ava tried her best to comfort Sunny.
She placed Sunny on the bed, took off his diaper, and found that he had peed, so she quickly grabbed a new diaper and changed him.
She thought changing the diaper would solve the problem, but Sunny kept crying even after the change.
Ava picked him up again, soothing, "What's wrong, Sunny? Are you uncomfortable?"
Alexander stepped forward and said, "Is he hungry?"
Ava replied, "I already fed him. He was fine before, I don't know what's wrong."
"Can I try again?" Alexander reached out his hands.
Ava glanced at him, hesitated for a moment, and then handed Sunny to him.
Alexander took Sunny and gently soothed, "Sunny, don't cry. Be good. Mommy is very tired. Let me hold you, okay?"
Alexander walked around the room holding Sunny, and within a minute, Sunny stopped crying, with glistening tears still hanging at the corners of his eyes.
Alexander gently wiped them with his thumb, "Sunny is such a good boy."
Ava looked on, puzzled, "Why does he stop crying as soon as you hold him?"
Could it be because of a father-son bond, some kind of connection between them?
Alexander said, "I'm not sure either, maybe it's just a coincidence. I'll put Sunny down now, you should get some rest."
Alexander placed Sunny on the bed.
But as soon as he put him down, Sunny started crying again.
Alexander immediately picked Sunny up, and Sunny stopped crying again. It was quite miraculous.
But it also seemed like a never-ending cycle.
Ava was also confused.
Alexander was puzzled, "Ava, what should we do? He cries as soon as I put him down."
Ava gently touched Sunny's little face, "Sunny, why are you doing this? Alexander needs to rest. Be good, okay? I'll put you to sleep."
Ava tried to take Sunny.
But as soon as she held Sunny in her arms, Sunny started crying again.
