Chapter 988 Looked Down Upon by All
Ava's voice was all choked up, her eyes welling with tears, but she refused to let them fall. No way was she gonna show weakness in front of him.
When she first tied the knot with William, it was all for show.
But things got out of hand, and now it was a total mess.
Out of nowhere, Alexander reached out, trying to touch Ava's shoulder.
"Don't you dare!" She shoved his hand away and slapped him again.
Alexander's swollen face puffed up even more.
For some reason, seeing Alexander like this made Ava even angrier. He didn't yell, didn't fight back, didn't even flinch. There was no satisfaction in her revenge, just more anger and pain.
"Alexander, what the hell are you doing?" Ava pounded his chest with her fists. "I hate you. Why can't you just leave me alone?"
"Enough!" Madison finally snapped and rushed over, shoving Ava to the ground.
Then, like she was protecting a kid, she stood in front of Alexander. "Stop hitting him, please."
"Ava." Alexander immediately pushed Madison aside and rushed to help Ava up. "Ava, are you okay?"
"Don't touch me!" Ava shook off his hand.
Madison stood there, stunned. Seeing Alexander rush to Ava without hesitation left her speechless. How could this be happening?
Madison clutched her chest and collapsed, struggling to breathe.
"Madison!" Alexander let go of Ava and rushed to Madison, holding her. "Madison, what's wrong?"
Madison clutched her chest, gasping for air, her face turning pale. "Alexander, I feel awful."
"I'll get you to a doctor." Alexander picked Madison up. Before leaving, he glanced back at Ava, still on the ground.
Just then, William ran over. "Ava."
He had only been gone a short while, and when he came back, he saw the chaos. He quickly helped Ava up. "What happened?"
Seeing Alexander and Madison, William pieced it together. "Did they mess with you? Alexander, you jerk!"
William was about to charge at him, but Ava grabbed his arm. "William, let them go."
She didn't want to talk about it anymore. Their situation was too tangled to explain.
William clenched his fists, seething. "Ava, this is all your fault,"
Alexander snapped. "If anything happens to Madison, it's on you too."
With that, Alexander left with Madison in his arms. William shouted, "Alexander, what the hell are you talking about?"
He wanted to chase after him, but Ava held his hand tight. "Forget it, William. Let him say whatever he wants. Don't waste your energy on him."
William fumed, "Ava, did you hear what he said? It's too much. How is any of this your fault? He brought Madison here to mess with you. Alexander's just dodging responsibility!"
Alexander looked down upon William, so did William to him.
