Chapter 321 She Mocks Her Own Son

Mia wasn't sure about it either. She felt that Alexander really liked Ava. But Alexander's actions were puzzling.

She didn't want to give Ava false hope in case she guessed wrong and made Ava sad.

Anyway, they were already divorced. It didn't matter what Alexander thought anymore.

"Yes. How can Alex have such bad taste? I really can't see any merit in Isabella. The woman George liked back then was at least talented."

Ava smiled faintly and said, "Maybe Alex has met the right person, so no matter what kind of person she is, she will make him fall for her."

Liking someone sometimes really has no reason or logic, even if others find it ridiculous.

"What about you? Do you like Alex?" Mia asked.

Ava's heart raced.

Mia stared at her. "What's wrong?"

"Mia, I'm already divorced from him. None of this matters anymore." Ava's voice was somewhat hoarse, and her throat felt sore. "Let's quickly eat. The food is getting cold."

Seeing this, Mia didn't insist and just nodded. "Alright."

Afterward, the two quietly finished dinner.

After dinner, less than an hour later, Ava went to the study again to continue reading materials.

Mia told Ava not to stay up too late and get some sleep.

Ava agreed, but when it was almost eleven o'clock at night, Mia noticed that the lights in the home office were still on.

Seeing Ava so devoted, Mia didn't disturb her and left, thinking that Ava would go to sleep when she felt tired.

After Mia returned to her room and was about to go to sleep, she received a text message.

It was from Alexander.

Alexander: [Why did Ava come to see you today?]

He found it strange because Ava rarely had contact with Mia, yet she had come to Mia's house today.

Mia felt a bit nervous when she received Alexander's text. Alexander rarely texted her, especially to inquire about Ava.

Mia sighed helplessly and replied.
Mia: [She came to visit me.]

Alexander: [Why did she come to see you? Are you sick?]

Mia raised an eyebrow.

Was Alexander worried about her?

Mia: [If I said I was sick, would you come to see me?]

Alexander: [It seems you're not sick, so why did she come to see you?]

Mia: [I'm her mother. Would it be strange for her to come and see me? Although you two are divorced, my relationship with her is still good.]

After Mia sent this message, she waited for a while before Alexander replied.

Alexander: [Don't bully her. Don't be like last time. She is not the person you described.]

Mia: [You're defending her so much. Others might think she's still your wife. I suddenly remember you're not her husband anymore.]

She felt a sense of irony towards her own son, which was quite satisfying.

Alexander: [Whether I'm her husband or not is not important. Even if we are divorced, she is still part of Mitchell family, and I consider her a sister.]

Mia could sense that Alexander was unhappy.

Mia: [Since you think she is your biological sister, then she is my daughter. Why are you worried about how I interact with my daughter?]

Alexander: [Mom, please don't make it difficult for her. I'm serious.]

Mia: [I'm serious too. If I'm spending time with my daughter, you don't need to worry. I'm going to sleep now.]

Alexander: [Has Ava gone to sleep?]

Mia: [No, she hasn't. She's still busy.]

Alexander: [It's so late, what could she be busy with? Did you ask her to do something?]

Mia: [Why do you care so much? Even if you consider her your sister, you don't have the right to interfere in her personal life, do you?]

Alexander: [Can't I ask a question?]

Mia: [I don't want to answer you. If you want to know, ask her yourself. I'm going to sleep. Goodbye.]

Mia waited for a while, but when she didn't receive a response from Alexander, she put down her phone, placed her hands on her belly, and let out a long sigh.

She finally felt like she was having a normal conversation with Alexander. Although Alexander could be a little fierce, this feeling was quite nice.
