Chapter 955 Life in Peril
Even though Alexander took a shot at Vincent too, there wasn't that same wild look in his eyes.
Plus, when William made his move, Alexander stepped in and stopped him.
If Alexander really wanted Vincent dead, he wouldn't have done that.
So, with all that in mind, Ava went with Alexander.
Seeing Ava's silence, Alexander pushed, "Ava, you still haven't answered me. If you don't trust me, why'd you pick me?"
"Can you just drop it? I picked someone at random, didn't overthink it." She couldn't badmouth William in front of Alexander, and honestly, it was just a gut feeling, not necessarily the truth.
Alexander sighed deeply. "Alright, I won't ask again. But Ava, if he really dies, what are you gonna do?" Alexander asked.
"Stop saying that, he won't die, he absolutely won't die!" Ava insisted.
Alexander hesitated, "He..."
Seeing Vincent in such bad shape, Alexander wasn't optimistic. Vincent might not make it, and if he didn't, Ava would be devastated.
He couldn't even handle William, and now there was Vincent too.
William was sneaky and deceitful, while Vincent was ruthless and reckless.
Alexander's heart felt especially heavy.
When would this tangled mess finally end?
He also wondered how Madison was doing.
When he left, Madison must have been in great pain. Leaving her like that, she would surely be heartbroken, but he had no choice.
He felt pity and compassion for Madison.
But for Ava, it was deep love.
Finally, they got to the hospital, where the medical staff were already waiting at the entrance.
Vincent was immediately taken out of the car, placed on a stretcher, and rushed into the operating room as quickly as possible.
The light in the operating room came on, and Ava, covered in blood, stood outside, waiting in despair.
She raised her hand, looking at the blood all over it, and began to tremble.
She wiped her hands on her clothes, trying to get rid of the bloodstains, but the more she wiped, the more blood there was. She was covered in blood, all of it Vincent's.
Why was there so much blood?
"Ava." Alexander stepped forward and hugged her.
He immediately took off his coat and tried to wipe the blood from her hands, but no matter how much he wiped, it wouldn't come off.
"Alexander, there's so much blood. Will he die?" Ava asked worriedly.
In the car, Alexander thought Vincent was on the brink of death.
But seeing Ava in such pain now, he couldn't bear it, so he said, "He won't die."
"The doctors are trying to save him. Don't worry."
"But he's lost so much blood. If he hadn't saved me, I would be dead. He took a bullet for me, and he was already injured. How could you all shoot at him? How could you?" Ava cried bitterly. "What should I do? What should I do!"
She couldn't stand steadily and began to collapse to the ground.
Alexander quickly caught her.
"Ava." He held her in his arms, pressing her head tightly against his chest. "He won't die, he definitely won't. I'm sorry, it's my fault, I'm sorry."
He couldn't imagine what Ava had gone through, what kind of danger she had faced that made Vincent save her.
"Ava." Alexander wiped the tears from Ava's face, only to find his own hands stained with blood.
