Chapter 763 Do Me a Favor

William gave a bitter smile. "She won't get it. Even if I tell her the truth, she'll just get mad and think you're foolish. Let her blame me. If I say it was your idea, she'll scold you. I know you respect her, and I don't want you to get hurt."

William's choked voice hit Ava hard.

She squeezed his hand. "William, thanks for standing up for me and accepting my crazy demands."

Only William understood her. Anyone else would've ended the pregnancy.

William was the best to her, unlike Alexander, who hurt her and divorced her, claiming it was for her own good.

In the end, neither of them was happy.

"Ava, your demands aren't crazy."

William gently stroked her face. "I know how important this child is to you. I made that choice because I understand you."

He held her hand tightly and kissed her fingers. "No matter what, I'll always support you."

Ava looked at him with tears in her eyes. "William, let the doctor check your face."

William said, "It's already been checked and treated. Don't worry, it'll be fine in a few days."

Seeing William's swollen face, Ava couldn't imagine how hard Mia must have hit him. No matter what, she shouldn't have done that.

William endured the Mitchell family's hatred for her.

"Don't cry." William tenderly wiped away her tears.

"Ava, please, don't cry. You just had surgery. Rest well. If you cry, the baby will be sad too."

"Okay." Ava wiped her tears. "William, can I ask you a favor?"

"What favor?" William asked.

"Can you name my child?"

William's face stiffened, surprised. "You want me to name the child?"

Ava nodded. "Yes, whether the child takes my last name or Alexander's, I want you to name my child, one name for a boy and one for a girl."

She wanted to repay his kindness by giving him this honor.

He was the one who signed to save her child, so he had the right.

William gently stroked her belly. "I'm happy to hear that, but naming a child is a big deal. Give me some time to think about it. I'll come up with a few names, and you can choose, okay?"

Ava nodded. "Okay, take your time."

"But what if someone else thinks of a better name before me?"

"I'll only use the name you choose," Ava said firmly. "William, the child must be named by you. No matter how good other names are, I won't use them."

William smiled gently. The wounds on his face stretched and hurt, making him frown.

But despite the pain, he was happy.

"Thank you. I'll make sure to give the child a great name. I promise, no one can come up with a better name than mine."

"Okay." Ava suddenly thought of something. "By the way, did Alexander call during my surgery?"

Alexander again!

William felt annoyed that Ava still mentioned Alexander.

William shook his head. "No, but Mia called. She came over when she found out you were having surgery, and we argued."

"Alexander never called?" Ava closed her eyes in pain. "Why is he so cruel? Why doesn't he give me any hope? Does he not want our child?"

"I want the child." William pressed her hand to his face. "Ava, the child can't be without a father. I'll be the father. If Alexander doesn't want this child, I do."

Ava's heart ached terribly.

But she wanted Alexander to accept this child.

She didn't say this out loud, though.

However, William could see it in her eyes.

He could never compare to the child's biological father, no matter what he did.

It was so unfair.

He didn't think blood relation was that important. He was the one who stayed by Ava's side, while the so-called father of her child was hiding somewhere else.

More importantly, Alexander had once hurt her deeply.

"William, my child can be your godson. I'll tell him you saved his life."

This was the only thing she could give him.

'So, this is all Ava could give me,' William thought.

He felt heartbroken but still faced her with a smile. "Okay, whatever you give me, I'll accept. As long as it's from you, it's the best."
