Chapter 601 A Favor

Elinor opened her mouth, unsure of how to respond, looking visibly confused. Noticing this, Ava continued, "Ms. Fairfax, don't worry. I'm not here to pressure you. Regardless, you have your own choices. You don't have to accept William. But right now, there are some things you might be able to help with. After all, he loves you."

Elinor managed a faint smile and said, "If he loves me, why would he forget me? But it seems he remembers you well."

Ava said, "The memories he has lost aren't necessarily unimportant. He also forgot his family, but they mean the world to him. It's just a coincidence that he happens to remember me. He once cared deeply for you, and when he spoke of you, he seemed heartbroken. Your lack of affection isn't your fault, though."

Elinor smiled faintly. "Ms. Anderson, I don't know what you're trying to say. What do you want me to do?"

"Could we have dinner together tonight? I'd like you to talk to William alone."

Elinor's heart skipped a beat. "What are you saying?"

"Ms. Fairfax, don't misunderstand. I have no ulterior motives. Since William loves you so much, if he spends time alone with you, you could help him recover some memories. Just one meal, and I promise you'll be safe."

Elinor said, "Ms. Anderson, I understand your point, and I trust you mean no harm. But I think you might have misunderstood something. Mr. Bennett and I are not involved in the way you believe. We..."

At this point, Elinor paused.

Ava asked, "What about you?"

Elinor wanted to clarify to Ava that she and William had never dated, but she thought, 'Maybe William hasn't been honest Ava either. If I rashly say it now, it might lead to unnecessary complications.'

Noticing Elinor's hesitation, Ava asked, "What's wrong? Is there an issue?"

Elinor shook her head. "Nothing, it's just that some things I think..."

Elinor suddenly found herself at a loss for words.

Ava hurriedly said, "I'm not trying to force you. If you don't want to, it's okay. You have the right to refuse. I absolutely won't blame you."

Elinor considered for a moment. "Then, could you tell me why he lost his memory? If you want me to help him, at least I need to know these things. But if it's too inconvenient, that's okay too."

Ava nodded. "Of course, you deserve to know. It's my mistake not to tell you earlier. William had an accident..."

Ava then recounted the entire story to Elinor.

After hearing it, Elinor was very shocked. "He actually went through that? It's really..." She struggled to find words to express her shock.

Ava said, "Yes, I was also very shocked and sad when it happened. Fortunately, William is physically okay now. But he has lost his memory. I really want to help him regain it, and since he told me before that he loves you..."

Elinor finally understood Ava had good intentions, though William might have lied to Ava previously.
