Chapter 858 She Was Hurt
Alexander's heart was all twisted up.
"Stupid thief, just take what you want and leave the rest alone!" he told to himself.
Someone knocked on the hospital room door.
Alexander's face scrunched up in annoyance.
Another knock.
He yanked the blanket over his head.
The person outside, probably thinking Alexander was about to do something dumb, barged right in.
As soon as the door swung open, Alexander grabbed the bedside lamp and chucked it, roaring like a wild animal, "Get out!"
A woman's scream pierced the air.
Madison clutched her forehead, stumbled, and hit the ground, blood trickling down her face.
Seeing it was Madison, Alexander shot up in bed, but his stomach pain made him collapse to the floor.
"Mr. Mitchell." Madison, struggling to her feet, rushed over to help him up, "Are you okay?"
Alexander looked up, noticing the blood on Madison's forehead, "Why are you here?"
Madison flinched at his harsh tone. "I came to check on you."
Alexander shook off her hand, got up on his own, and plopped back on the bed. "Who told you to come?"
How did Madison know he was in the hospital? Someone must've tipped her off.
He had a pretty good idea who.
Madison didn't hide it, "Mia called me. She said something happened to you and asked me to come see you."
"Mr. Mitchell, are you okay?" Madison's eyes were full of worry, ignoring her own injury.
Alexander felt a pang of guilt. He thought it was someone else, but it was Madison.
Realizing his outburst, Alexander sighed, "Why didn't you say something?"
If she had, he wouldn't have thrown the lamp.
"You're right, I should've. It's my bad. I shouldn't have barged in. But I knocked and you didn't answer, so I got worried and came in."
Alexander's face tightened in frustration. "What's with you all? Thinking I'm gonna do something stupid. Aren't you all being stupid yourselves?"
Madison stared at him, speechless.
She lowered her head, tears dripping down.
She wasn't mad at Alexander; she was just worried.
Seeing her cry, Alexander thought he had scared her. He wanted to explain but figured, what's the point? In his state, he didn't want to see anyone.
Alexander said, "Go get a doctor to patch up your head."
"I'm fine," Madison said. "I was just worried about you. Plus, I have something to tell you."
"What is it?" Alexander asked.
Madison was about to speak when Alexander cut her off, "Hold up."
Seeing the blood still oozing from her head, Alexander sighed, "Go get that wound checked first, then come back and tell me."
Madison wiped her tears. "Really?"
"When have I ever lied to you?" He sounded a bit impatient. "Go on."
If her wound got infected, it could be bad.
"Alright, I'll be right back. Wait for me, okay?"
Alexander nodded, "Go ahead."
His gaze softened a bit.
Madison dashed out of the room.
Alexander sighed.
Looking at the shattered lamp on the floor, he muttered to himself, "Alexander, when did you become such a mess?"
