Chapter 796 Don't Ask
Late at night, Ava couldn't sleep.
She went out to the yard and sat on the swing, feeling the cool evening breeze.
William came up behind her with a soft blanket and draped it over her shoulders.
Ava turned and smiled, "William, why aren't you asleep?"
William replied, "You aren't either." He sat next to her, "What's wrong? You can talk to me."
Ava sighed, "I'm just worried about my grandma."
William said, "I get it. There's no cure, but with 24/7 care, she'll be okay."
Ava sighed again, "I want to take care of her, but I'm pregnant."
She felt a pang in her heart. She had been so excited for this baby, willing to risk everything.
Now, she was wishing she wasn't pregnant.
It was like she'd become a different person, someone she barely recognized.
William held her hand. "Ava, don't say that. Have the baby first. We've got tons of time."
Ava remembered her promise to William to never divorce him.
She felt he was too dependent on her because of his amnesia. If he regained his memory, maybe they could divorce.
Then she could move back with Grandma and take care of her.
But she was far along in her pregnancy. She had to have the baby first.
And Mia was right; she needed to study. She hadn't continued her studies or worked in her field because of the pregnancy.
She could study while pregnant, squeezing in some time.
Ava suggested, "William, let's go abroad."
William was shocked.
When Mia mentioned she would persuade Ava, he didn't believe it, but now Ava was suggesting going abroad.
Seeing his look, Ava said, "We were supposed to go a long time ago, but things happened. I promised you we'd go, and I want you to regain your memory."
William smiled, "Alright, when do you want to go?"
Ava replied, "Anytime."
William said, "Okay, give me a few days to handle some company stuff."
He needed to finalize the SkyLabs acquisition first.
Ava nodded. "Alright."
For the next two days, William worked on the SkyLabs deal.
Dalton approached him, aware of the acquisition process.
Dalton asked, "Why are you acquiring SkyLabs?"
"For the company's growth," William replied.
Dalton pressed, "How will this benefit the company? You're paying a high price."
William asked, "Dad, are you questioning me?"
Dalton sneered, "What else?"
William said, "Then I have a question for you. Answer me, and I'll answer you."
Dalton asked, "What question?"
William said, "What's your relationship with Mia?"
Dalton was stunned.
Seeing him speechless, William smiled, "Can't answer, can you?"
"William, it's complicated. I'll tell you, but not now," Dalton said heavily.
Dalton thought, 'Mia hadn't told William, and if he did, William might hate him more. So, if Mia stayed quiet, so would he.'
William said, "Dad, if it's complicated, then my SkyLabs deal is too. Let's not question each other and just do our own things."
