Chapter 726 Get Some Rest Early

Vicky's words sounded like she was criticizing William, but really, she was saying that if Eason hadn't been a troublemaker, William wouldn't have lost it.

William wasn't the type to act out without a reason, so Eason must've really pushed his buttons.

William glanced at Vicky and sighed softly.

Before Ava could speak, he said, "I'm sorry, I lost my temper. I shouldn't have acted out. Please don't hold it against me."

Eason pouted a bit, then looked at Ava and said softly, "Ava, since he's apologized, you should forgive him. Even though he scared me, you came just in time, and I wasn't hurt."

Eason's words sounded forgiving, but he was subtly pointing out how scary William was and how lucky it was that Ava showed up when she did.

Ava sighed softly.

"William, Eason, since you don't like each other, I won't force you to meet. You don't need to pretend to be close to avoid future conflicts."

"Ava, I promise there won't be a next time," William quickly said, "I..."

"Alright, stop talking," Ava cut him off. "I don't want to be angry right now."

Ava felt really exhausted. She had gone to see Alexander, but she hadn't even met him.

She sighed again. "Get off the bed, both of you."

She thought, 'I've kept them on the bed for so long, which must be quite difficult for them.'

'But they are obedient.'

'And the reason they are obedient is that they care about my feelings.'

Thinking of this, she wasn't as angry anymore.

William, relieved, immediately got off the bed.

Eason followed, stretching. "Ava, where did you go? I thought you weren't coming back tonight, and I was about to go to sleep."

Ava didn't tell the truth but said, "I just went out for a walk and lost track of time. Eason, I'm sorry for keeping you so late. I'll have someone drive you home."

She had punished Eason today, and Eason knew he was wrong. There was no need to be cold to him anymore.

"No need, Ava. I can go back by myself. I can take a cab," Eason said considerately.

"How about I take him back?" Vicky offered. "I need to go back too, so I can take him along."

Ava nodded. "That works. Vicky, thank you. When I'm feeling better, I'll treat you to a meal."

"No need to be so polite. We're family," Vicky said, patting her shoulder lightly. Then she turned to Eason, saying, "If you don't mind, you can ride with me."

"I don't mind," Eason said with a smile. "Thanks a lot."

Vicky then said to Ava, "Ava, I'll head out now. Call me if you need anything."

Ava responded, "Be careful on the way, and text me when you get home."

"Okay."

Finally, Vicky said to Eason, "Let's go."

Eason, carrying his bag, followed Vicky out.

The hospital room was left with just Ava and William.

Ava stared at him silently, and William, with his head down, didn't dare to say anything.

"William, when did you become so irritable?"

Ava's question pained William.

"Since I fell in love with you," William answered truthfully.

Ava closed her eyes helplessly.

William said, feeling hurt, "You only saw me raising my fist to hit him, but you didn't ask why. Is Eason really that innocent? He provoked me like a brat, and whether he did it on purpose or not, I was really angry."

William tried not to make Eason sound too bad, knowing Ava wouldn't believe it, so describing him as a brat was the most fitting.

As expected, Ava's expression softened a bit. She could sense that Eason was quite mischievous and sometimes really annoying, so it was no wonder William lost his temper.

"William, go wash up and sleep. I need to rest too," Ava said.

She was very tired and didn't want to talk much. She just wanted to sleep and wait for tomorrow.

William saw that Ava was exhausted. He didn't know where Ava had gone, and it seemed she didn't want to tell him.

If he insisted on asking, it would only annoy her, so William didn't ask further.

"Alright, Ava, you rest early too."
