Chapter 779 Divorce Her

Seeing the tenderness in William's eyes, Brandon realized he was head over heels for Ava.

If they were to be separated...

"Brandon, here to see Ava?"

Brandon nodded. "Yeah, just checking in."

He walked into the ward.

Ava was holding a bowl of oatmeal.

Seeing Brandon, she quickly set the bowl down. "Brandon, you're here."

"How are you feeling?"

"I'm good," Ava smiled. "The baby's good too, thanks to William."

"I can tell," Brandon chuckled. "His face is all swollen."

Ava felt a bit guilty.

"His injury is my fault," she explained to Brandon.

After listening, Brandon finally got it.

When he saw Mia earlier, she seemed off. 'Was it because of William's injury?' he wondered.

But that didn't add up. She had no real connection to William. Slapping him and making his face swell wasn't enough to make her cry alone in the car.

There had to be another reason.

"It's okay, I get it," Brandon said. "She must've been mad, which shows she cares about you. She cares more about you than the baby."

Ava was really grateful for Brandon's understanding.

"Thanks, Brandon."

"No need to thank me. It's all good." He gently patted Ava's hand. "Take care of yourself."

"I will."

Being around Brandon always brought a sense of comforting familiarity to Ava.

Brandon wanted some alone time with Ava but didn't want to ask William to leave—it'd be weird.

Just then, Brandon got a call.

"Hello?"

"What? Got it, I'll be right there."

After hanging up, Brandon said, "I gotta go handle something. Rest up, and I'll see you next time."

"Okay, Brandon, go ahead."

Brandon nodded and left the room.

"William, I need a word with you. Come here."

William nodded and followed Brandon out.

Once they were alone, William asked, "What's up, Brandon?"

"William, are you hiding something from me?"

William replied, "Why would I?"

"You seemed really agitated on that call. What happened?"

"Nothing happened."

"Really? We're family; no need to hide stuff."

William hesitated.

The issue hadn't come out yet, and admitting it first would be bad.

"Brandon, it's really nothing." William decided to lie.

"Just a prank call, and with my amnesia, I get annoyed easily."

He couldn't admit anything before it was exposed. The truth, if revealed, would carry a price he couldn't pay.

Brandon didn't push further.

"Did you call me out just to ask about this?"

Brandon shook his head. "No, there's something else."

"What is it?"

"After Ava recovers, you should divorce her."

William's smile froze. "What did you say?"

"Ava married you to help, not out of love. Even with your amnesia, you're not a real couple. Once she's better, you should divorce."

Seeing Brandon's serious face, William's expression turned cold. "Brandon, you should go back now."
