Chapter 970 Felt Deeply Sorry for Her
"No way, I can't die." Madison's shaky hand grabbed the pill, not caring if it was dirty, and shoved it into her mouth, swallowing it down.
The medicine started to kick in slowly.
Madison felt her breathing ease up. She got back into bed, lying there, staring blankly at the ceiling. "I can't die, no matter what. I have to live. Alexander, I need to live for you. I can't let you be with Ava. She's already got a husband and a kid, and she's still trying to seduce you. She's so shameless! She wants to seduce you and ruin you. Why would you want someone so cheap and promiscuous?"
Just then, there was a noise outside the door. "Mr. Mitchell, you're back."
Hearing the commotion, Madison's eyes snapped open. She heard footsteps coming closer.
Her heart skipped a beat. She quickly pulled down the strap of her dress, exposing her smooth shoulder and soft chest.
She lay on the bed, her clothes all messed up, looking like a flower that had been trampled, evoking deep pity.
When Alexander walked in, he saw pills scattered all over the floor and Madison lying on the bed.
His eyes filled with panic. He rushed to her side, scooping her into his arms and gently shaking her. "Madison, Madison, wake up!"
Alexander's eyes were full of worry and tension. He was about to call for someone to get the car ready to take her to the hospital when he saw Madison slowly open her eyes.
"Alexander, you're back. Finally, you're back. I've waited so long for you."
"Yes, Madison, I'm back. What's wrong? Are you feeling unwell?"
Was her heart condition acting up again?
Alexander glanced at the pills on the floor. "Did you take your medicine?"
"Alexander, I took my medicine. But after I took it, my hand slipped, and the pills went everywhere. I'm so sorry. I'm so useless." She tried hard to look obedient, making him feel sorry for her.
Hearing that she had taken her medicine, Alexander sighed in relief.
"It's okay. It's not your fault. It's mine. I shouldn't have left you here," Alexander said.
"Alexander, I've waited so long for you." Madison cried, raising her hand to touch his face. "You look so worn out. What have you been through? Did you find her?"
Madison asked him tearfully, looking so pitiful and endearing.
Alexander gently wiped away Madison's tears and nodded. "Yes, I found her. She's safe now."
Madison looked relieved. "It's good that she's safe. I also hope she stays safe because if something happened to her, you'd be in pain too. I hope Ava can live well. Alexander, as long as it's someone you care about, no matter who they are, I hope they're safe."
'Only if that bitch Ava stays alive can I get my revenge,' Madison thought to herself.
Just as expected, Ava was perfectly fine.
She must have disappeared on purpose to make Alexander look for her. She was so insidious.
Seeing Madison's kind demeanor, Alexander felt deeply sorry for her.
