Chapter 1086 Searching for Clues
"Maybe he was worried about me, so he rushed to here. Don't worry; Brandon will be fine."
Mandy nodded, and they walked into the villa. Mandy took off her coat and handed it to the servant.
She seemed a bit tired and asked the servant to bring her a bottle of ice water.
"Mom, why do you look so tired?"
"I went dancing, so I'm exhausted. Hailey, you should go to bed. I'm going back to my room too."
"Alright, Mom, have a good night."
Hailey went upstairs, locked the door after entering her room, and walked into the bathroom to call Brandon.
Brandon asked immediately, "Hailey, how's it going? Is there any news from Mom?"
"Brandon, I'll figure something out with Mom and let you know as soon as I have any news. In the meantime, try to find Ms. Thompson. If you can find her, that's great. Otherwise, I'll try to get some information from Mom or find other clues."
Brandon sighed. "Alright then. Hailey, I'm counting on you with Mom."
"I know."
After hanging up, Hailey came out and waited silently.
Until midnight, Hailey splashed her face with cold water to wake herself up, then quietly opened the door.
She went to Mandy's room, carefully opened the door a crack, and peeked inside.
The room was pitch dark, but the moonlight from outside was bright enough to faintly see the scene inside.
Hailey tapped her phone screen to use its dim light to navigate the room. She searched the room using the faint light from her phone screen.
Finally, Hailey found a phone on the nightstand, screen facing down.
Hailey carefully picked up the phone and tapped the screen, revealing a fingerprint lock.
She glanced at Mandy, who was sound asleep, then moved closer to the window, kneeling on the carpet, and gently approached her.
She lifted Mandy's thumb, trying to unlock the phone. Sensing a slight movement, Mandy's finger twitched, and she turned over.
Hailey wiped the cold sweat from her forehead, moved to the other side of the bed. Since Mandy was sleeping in the middle of the large bed, Hailey had to sit on the bed, lean down close to Mandy, and gently press Mandy's thumb on the phone screen. This time, it worked.
After unlocking the phone, Hailey immediately lay on the floor and started checking the messages.
She found multiple calls between Mandy and an unknown number, but no text messages.
There were no suspicious chats on WhatsApp either.
Hailey took out her phone and snapped a picture of the unknown number.
Next, she opened the photo album to see if there were any clues.
One photo made Hailey shiver.
In the photo, a woman was tied up, disheveled, covered in blood, and barely alive on the ground, making her unrecognizable.
Hailey covered her trembling lips and quickly took a picture of the photo.
After doing all this, she put the phone back in its place and was about to leave Mandy's room.
Perhaps too flustered and shocked by the photo, Hailey tripped and fell at the door, making a noise.
Startled, she quickly got up and ran back to her room.
