Chapter 1171 Afraid He Might Die
After the doctor left, Bishop came to the bedside.
"Ava, it's almost noon. What would you like to eat? I'll get it for you."
Hearing Bishop's words, Ava was a bit stunned and surprised.
Seeing Ava's slightly surprised expression, Bishop smiled and asked, "What's wrong? Why are you looking at me like that?"
"Didn't you say you wanted to talk to me?"
"Talk?" Hearing this word, Bishop immediately thought of what he had just said to the doctor. He smiled faintly, "Yes, I want to talk to you about what to eat for lunch."
Ava slightly curled the corners of her mouth, "I thought you wanted to persuade me to have a doctor evaluate my mental state."
Bishop sat on the chair beside Ava's bed, holding Sunny.
"I won't force you to do anything you don't want to do. Besides, you've been through so much, it's natural to feel sad. I can see it all; there's no need for someone else to evaluate and add to your pain."
Whether the doctor evaluates her or not, even if it's confirmed she has psychological issues, her pain is still there. It's not something that can be solved with a few words of comfort or medication.
He had seen too many people with psychological issues who ended up dying despite treatment.
Without a supportive environment and gentle people around her, even the best doctor wouldn't be able to help.
He knew Ava would never reach that point.
He was willing to be the gentlest person by Ava's side, providing her with a comfortable haven.
Hearing Bishop's warm words, Ava felt a lump in her throat and had the urge to cry.
If one day, her heart no longer hurt, she could be sure that Bishop had a lot to do with it.
"Ava, no matter what you're thinking, you can tell me. You don't need to hide anything from me. I'll always be by your side."
Ava wondered what she had done to deserve Bishop's trust and kindness.
No matter how many "thanks", they could not express the gratitude in her heart.
Worried that Ava might cry, Bishop quickly changed the subject, "Sunny, look, your mom is awake."
"Ava, do you want me to put Sunny next to you?"
Ava gently responded, "Okay."
Bishop placed Sunny beside Ava on the bed.
Ava reached out to hug Sunny. Seeing that Sunny was fine and thinking about how she saw Bishop taking meticulous care of Sunny as soon as she opened her eyes, she felt very touched.
"Bishop, thank you for taking care of Sunny. If it weren't for you last night, who knows what could have happened."
"Ava, did you hear Sunny crying last night?"
Ava responded, "Yes, I wanted to go out, but I fainted. Luckily, you were there."
"Ava, Sunny might have cried because she sensed something happened to you." Bishop looked at Sunny with a fatherly tenderness, "As long as you want, I can always be here."
Bishop gently held Sunny's little hand, "Until you get better, I won't go anywhere. I'll stay with you both."
"Bishop, thank you."
"Don't thank me. I'm willing to do this."
Ava's eyes became misty.
Suddenly, Ava thought about last night.
"Bishop, when I fainted while taking a shower last night, did you..."
Bishop was momentarily stunned, then showed a hint of embarrassment. He nodded, "Yes, but don't worry, I won't tell anyone. The situation was urgent, and I had no choice. I'm sorry."
"You don't need to apologize to me." Ava smiled awkwardly, "Although I feel a bit embarrassed, I don't blame you. In that situation, you were trying to save me."
Bishop saved her life and protected Sunny, which was the most important thing.
It would be foolish to dwell on being seen naked in such a situation.
"Bishop, did you stay up all night?" Ava noticed that Bishop looked a bit unwell.
"It's okay. I'll sleep tonight. I used to stay up for several nights in a row; I'm used to it."
"That's not good. You need enough sleep. Why don't you go home and rest?"
"What about Sunny?"
"I can hire a nurse to help take care of Sunny."
"Ava, I know you're worried about me, but don't worry, I'm fine. Just tell me what you want for lunch. Even if I need to sleep, I'll do it after lunch."
"Alright, but you need to rest after lunch."
Ava was temporarily convinced.
But after lunch, no matter how much Ava urged, Bishop still didn't go home.
In the end, with no other option, Bishop reluctantly agreed to lie down on the couch for a while.
Bishop was indeed tired and quickly fell asleep on the couch.
Ava lay on the hospital bed, holding Sunny, her eyes fixed on Bishop on the couch, then glanced at Sunny in her arms.
She whispered in Sunny's ear, "Sunny, when you grow up, it would be great if you could be a Bishop who doesn't fight and kill."
Bishop was perfect, except for his dangerous identity.
Ava looked at his sleeping face, peaceful and serene.
But then, she felt sad again.
A strong sense of unease suddenly filled her heart.
She was so afraid that Bishop might die.
