Chapter 724 Compete for a Brother

Vicky had no idea how to break it to Ava that she and William were cousins.

She thought, 'Ava's part of the Mitchell family now, but if she finds out she's an illegitimate child of the Smith family and married her cousin...'

Vicky couldn't even picture that mess.

"Vicky, what's up with you?"

Ava wasn't mad that Vicky had doubts. She thought, 'Vicky used to back us up. Why's she so hesitant now? Something must've changed her mind.'

Vicky said, "Nothing, it's just... if my brother doesn't divorce you, are you really gonna stay married to him forever? Are you two gonna be a real couple?"

The more Vicky thought about it, the more it freaked her out.

At first, when she knew William liked Ava, she was thrilled. Every time William looked at Ava, she felt their connection. But now, knowing they were blood-related, she couldn't stand it.

The exact same situation, with a different identity, yields a completely different outcome.

Ava sighed, "Vicky, if I divorce William, it'll hurt him. If this marriage makes him happy, then so be it. I've made it clear to him, and he'll respect me. Maybe one day, when he gets his memory back, he'll divorce me."

"What if he gets his memory back and still wants to be with you?"

Hearing the urgency in Vicky's voice, Ava got even more confused. "Vicky, do you really want me to divorce William?"

"I..." Vicky was scared Ava might figure it out. But she couldn't explain, so she just said, "I'm just worried about you. I know you don't love my brother. If you stay with him, you won't be happy. My brother's wrong for forcing you."

Before knowing Ava's true identity, Vicky wanted William and Ava together. But now, knowing Ava was her and William's cousin, she was torn.

She wanted to spill the truth but worried it would cause chaos.

It would be a huge shock for Ava.

"He didn't force me. I was the one who pushed him first. My relationship with William is very complicated."

Vicky sighed, "Yeah, it's really complicated."

So complicated she didn't even know where to start.

"I just hope William gets his memory back soon. Maybe then he'll understand. Right now, he's got amnesia and feels insecure."

Vicky scratched her head in frustration. "Yeah, he barely survived and lost his memory. You have to tolerate everything he does."

"Yeah, I can't help it. I feel responsible for his accident. If I hadn't been harsh or stopped him from leaving, he wouldn't have had the accident."

Ava felt a lot of guilt towards William.

Vicky said, "It's not your fault, don't beat yourself up. But we still haven't found who hurt him, and the person who kidnapped you is still out there. What's going on lately? These things keep happening. I think from now on, bodyguards should follow you and William everywhere. Next time, you might not be so lucky."

"Vicky, let's go back. William and Eason are still in the hospital."

Vicky nodded and drove off.

"By the way, that guy Eason, you seem to have a good relationship with him."

Ava smiled, "Eason's a genius, three years younger than me, and he's doing his PhD. I remember the first time I met him was in the neighborhood. I was really sad, and he comforted me."

"He sounds like a nice guy," Vicky said. "He's also pretty cute and obedient to you. I wish I had a brother like that."

Ava laughed. "Then ask him if he wants to call you sister. He's got a sweet mouth."

"Hahaha," Vicky laughed. "Nah, I won't compete with you for a brother."
