Chapter 1052 Can't Hold It Anymore

She had held it in for three months, not daring to say much or show anything. Every time she chatted with William, her tone and attitude were always very normal.

But now that she was back, she couldn't hold it in any longer.

"Ava." William wanted to say something more, but Ava turned around, "Stop trying to keep me here, I'm begging you, William!"

William clenched his fists.

Seeing that he didn't stop her, Ava turned to leave.

But after only a few steps, she suddenly heard a loud bang behind her.

Ava's heart trembled violently.

She recognized the sound; it was a gunshot.

Ava turned around to see William, blood gushing from his chest. He staggered back a few steps before collapsing to the ground.

Ava covered her mouth, staring in shock at William lying on the ground, momentarily stunned.

William reached out his hand with difficulty and said, "Ava, don't go. I'm begging you."

"William!" Ava rushed over.

She trembled as she lifted William from the ground, her shaking hands trying to cover his bleeding wound.

"William, what are you doing?"

The handgun in William's hand fell to the ground.

As blood continued to flow, his lips grew pale. "I'm sorry, Ava. I know it's my fault. So this is my way of making it up to Alexander, making up for what I did wrong."

Tears slid down from William's eyes. He held Ava's hand. "Have you regretted many times choosing to save me back then? Now you don't have to regret it anymore. Let me die."

"No, William, you can't die!" Ava shouted loudly, " Help! help! "

The house servants heard the call and rushed in, terrified at the sight of William lying on the ground, covered in blood.

Ava shouted, "What are you standing there for? Get the car ready!"

After emergency treatment in the hospital, William's life was saved. When he woke up from his coma, it was already noon the next day.

Ava had been by his bedside the whole time, her eyes full of exhaustion.

When she was tired, she would doze off in the chair, but she never left.

William opened his eyes and saw Ava still there, feeling very happy.

William said, "Ava, you didn't leave."

Ava asked, "You're awake. How are you feeling?"

Ava's face was exceptionally haggard.

She was very tired, both physically and mentally.

"Ava, why did you save me? I did something wrong; let me pay with my life."

Ava sighed, "William, can you stop doing this? What good does it do to hurt yourself like this?"

Although William had shot himself, it was still terrifying to Ava. Such an extreme act was too much.

William replied, "I was trying to atone for my mistakes, Ava. I didn't know how to calm your anger, so I resorted to that foolish method, life for a life. Although I hadn't killed Alexander, he believed I intended to. Therefore, I thought it would be better if I were dead."

Ava said helplessly, "What good does this do for you or me? I'm really exhausted."

William responded, "I just hope you can forgive me. I really know I was wrong. That day, I was just anxious to find you, so I said some harsh words. But I really didn't mean to kill him."
