Chapter 472 Fulfilling Wishes
Alexander arrived at Isabella's hospital room. As soon as he entered, he saw Isabella holding a pure white wedding dress in her arms, smiling brightly.
Perhaps due to sheer joy, her countenance had noticeably improved.
"Alexander, you're here," Isabella said, holding the wedding dress tightly. "You didn't lie to me after all. This wedding dress is so beautiful. I love it so much. I really want to put it on quickly."
Alexander sat on the edge of the bed, his expression slightly solemn.
"What's wrong, Alexander?" Isabella saw his bad complexion. "Did something happen? Isn't this wedding dress for me?"
Alexander smiled, "It's for you, as long as you like it."
The heart transplant surgery couldn't be done now.
Ava would never agree to it.
That man had already been more important to Ava than he had imagined.
"Alexander, why do you look so worried? What happened? You can tell me," Isabella said.
"Isabella." Alexander held her hand. "I will transfer you to another hospital today."
Isabella was puzzled. "Isn't this hospital the best in the country? Why transfer?"
Seeing Alexander's serious expression, Isabella seemed to guess something with a foreboding feeling. "Alexander, tell me the truth. What's really going on?"
"Isabella, in the final period, I won't go anywhere. I will definitely accompany you well."
She didn't have much time left.
Isabella's emotions were a bit agitated. "Why are you saying this? Isn't the surgery coming up soon?"
At this point, Alexander could only tell her the truth. "I'm sorry, the surgery can't be done."
"Why can't it be done?"
"Because..." Alexander made up a reason. "The patient's heart is damaged, so the surgery can't proceed."
The wedding dress in Isabella's arms fell to the ground.
She looked at Alexander in disbelief. "Isn't it just a matter of getting consent from the patient's family? How come his heart suddenly can't make it?"
"I'm sorry, this is an unexpected situation. His injuries are severe, and his heart has failed."
"No, it can't be like this. No!"
Isabella was terrified, as Eason had promised this heart to her. If it couldn't be used now, what should she do? Did this mean she was really going to die?
She was gambling with her life!
"Alexander, what should I do? Just wait to die?"
"Isabella, I will arrange for your transfer to another facility. I will seek out another doctor for a consultation, and we shall reassess the situation then."
Now, this was the extent of solace he can offer her.
"Why transfer? Aren't the best doctors here? Alexander, what are you hiding from me? Do you not want me to have the surgery? Do you want me to die?"
With her life at stake, Isabella lost her rationality!
"Isabella, why would you think that? Of course, I don't want you to die. It's just that the situation is beyond our control."
"What do we do now? Are you just going to watch me die? Alexander, you promised to marry me. I waited and waited until I was in despair. However, you gave me hope, and now you're pushing me back into hell. You're so cruel!"
"I'm sorry." Alexander didn't know what else to say.
Alexander picked up the wedding dress from the ground and placed it in her arms. "We can have the wedding today."
He felt utterly despairing now, as Ava adamantly rejected him, wept inconsolably for William, and even contemplated sending him to prison.
Crucially, she was already married to William.
And Isabella was about to die!
So, the only thing he could do was to fulfill her wish before Isabella passed away.
