Chapter 331 Punishment

"Dad, if you involve others, I will never let you go either!" William's voice carried some anger.

Dalton gave him a harsh slap.

William turned his head, letting out a disdainful snort.

"Dad, you always blame my mom, saying she often delays your matters. Later, she just stayed at home, not doing anything, afraid to disturb you. But sometimes, you're still not satisfied with her. I'm really curious, can everything really be blamed on others? Don't you have any responsibility yourself?"

A loud slap!

Dalton slapped him again, "You lost the project and dare to argue with me! John, bring the stick!"

Dalton was always strict, and to educate William, he had been beaten by him since he was young.

But as he grew older, Dalton rarely hit people, let alone use a stick.

John hesitated, but he didn't dare to disobey. He turned around and brought a long, thin stick.

This stick looked old, soft, yet resilient. If it hit a person, unless several layers of clothing were protecting them, it would certainly cause injuries.

Dalton took the stick and lightly tapped it in his palm.

"William, I'll give you one last chance. Tell me, which woman has bewitched you?"

William voluntarily kneeled on the ground and calmly said, "I don't have a woman. It's all my responsibility."

This had nothing to do with Ava. It was all his own choice.

Indeed, he had neglected his work. If he, as the leader, was like this, his subordinates would certainly follow suit. Even if Dalton taught him a lesson, he deserved it, and he would bear it all.

"Fine." Dalton nodded angrily, coldly smiled, and turned to John. "Have the doctor be ready to receive someone."

John hurriedly called the doctor on his phone.

Dalton wouldn't show mercy anymore.

John felt nervous for William.

Dalton clenched the stick in his hand and lifted it up, but instead of immediately striking, he looked at William's reaction.

However, stubborn William didn't react and just waited for the stick to fall.

Dalton gritted his teeth, about to swing the stick down, when suddenly, a sharp voice came from outside the door, "Stop!"

Ava hurriedly rushed in, followed by Victoria.

As two young women entered the hall, they immediately saw William kneeling on the ground and Dalton holding up a frightening-looking stick, ready to strike him.

Upon hearing Ava's voice, William turned his head, surprised. "What are you doing here?"

But when he saw Victoria behind Ava, he instantly understood something, furrowing his brow and staring at Victoria as if blaming her for bringing Ava here.

Seeing William's gaze, Victoria looked crestfallen.

Victoria had hoped to make Ava worry about him.

But William didn't understand Victoria's intentions at all.

Dalton let go of his hand and glanced at Ava, quickly sizing her up. He suddenly understood something. "So this woman is you. And you dare to come here."

"Dad," Victoria mustered up the courage to speak. "Her name is Ava, and she is a good friend of mine and William's."

Although Victoria was afraid, she still stood in front of Ava. After all, she was Dalton's biological daughter.

"Is that so? A good friend?" Dalton turned his head and gave William a quick glance. "Is she your good friend?"
