Chapter 889 Things Don't Go as Planned
His girl was ice-cold to him, while the woman he didn't care about was all in.
Life was a real kick in the teeth sometimes.
You always end up with the stuff you don't want, and the stuff you do want? Yeah, good luck with that.
Guess it proves the old saying: "The best things are the ones you can't have." You want 'em 'cause you can't get 'em.
Alexander dragged himself off the carpet, scooped Madison up, and trudged up the stairs.
Back in the room, he tossed Madison onto the bed, yanked off his shirt, and pinned her down, hands to the sides.
"Madison, I wanna make love to you."
Guys always got a soft spot for those fragile girls, like Madison, who was all sad and weak and loved him so desperately.
Alexander wasn't made of stone. A girl like that always got to him, especially when his dream girl was so heartless, and another girl was giving her all to him, easing his pain.
If he kept suffering like this, he'd lose it.
He needed a way to numb the pain.
Madison's body was his escape.
Especially her face, so much like Ava's.
He could selfishly pretend Madison was Ava.
Madison was nervous, but she was also excited. She nodded and closed her eyes.
She gave herself to him, no holding back.
The next second, Alexander's fiery kiss landed on her neck, unstoppable.
This night was gonna be wild.
After getting home, Ava was like a zombie.
William followed her, holding Sunny, and walked her back to the room.
Ava sat on the bed, staring into space for a while before snapping out of it.
"William, give me Sunny. I'll take him to the nursery." Ava's voice was all cracked, and she felt like she was about to lose it.
She didn't want to break down in front of Sunny.
"I'll take Sunny over." With that, William left the room with Sunny.
Ava collapsed onto the bed, staring blankly at the ceiling.
After putting Sunny in the cradle, William came back to Ava's room. Seeing her lying there, he freaked out and rushed over. "Ava, you okay?"
Ava didn't say a word, just stared, tears streaming down, soaking the sheets.
William was super worried. "Ava, I'm here. Cry all you want. I'll always be here."
William's words broke Ava. She started sobbing uncontrollably.
William felt her pain and pulled her up, holding her tight, gently patting her back.
"Just cry. I'm here. My arms are always open for you. Let it out." He didn't want her bottling it up; it wasn't healthy.
Tonight was enough for Ava to see Alexander for who he really was. She wouldn't hold out hope for him anymore.
Ava cried her heart out, clutching William's collar, even pounding on him with her fists, venting her frustration. "Why? Why does it have to be like this? Why!"
William closed his eyes, feeling her pain, saying nothing, letting her vent.
He still had bruises from Alexander's beating. Ava's punches weren't strong, but hitting his sore spots still hurt, but he took it.
