Chapter 1238 Scared Me to Death
Ava was startled. She didn't turn around to look, so as not to alert the person following her. She pushed Sunny and walked out.
The man followed them.
Ava walked towards the crowded area.
There were more people in the supermarket, and Ava didn't dare to leave. She was worried that if she went to a less populated area, the man might do something.
She would rather be overly cautious than regret it later.
After all, she still had Sunny to take care of, she wasn't alone.
Ava pushed the shopping cart, staying in crowded areas, carefully observing her surroundings.
After about an hour and a half, Ava wiped the sweat off her forehead.
She had walked long enough, her feet were sore, and the man seemed to be gone. Maybe he had left.
Perhaps she was overthinking it.
After paying for the groceries, Ava carried the bags and walked out of the supermarket.
Her car was parked outside the supermarket.
Ava tried to stay in crowded areas.
But after walking for a while, there were fewer and fewer people. She quickened her pace, wanting to get to her car quickly.
Just then, a voice suddenly came from behind.
Ava was startled, and the things in her hands fell to the ground, scattering everywhere.
She held Sunny and backed away frantically. Sunny was frightened by Ava, his small body trembled, and he opened his mouth as if to cry.
Ava held Sunny in her arms, protecting his head. When she saw the man in front of her clearly, she breathed a sigh of relief.
"Eason, it's you, you scared me to death."
She thought it was the man who had been following her.
"What's wrong? I'm sorry, I didn't mean to. I wanted to surprise you."
Eason asked in confusion, "What's wrong? You look pale."
Ava swallowed and said, "I felt like someone was following me. I'm not sure if it's true, so when you called me just now, I was startled."
"Really?" Eason's face became serious, looking around, "Who was following you? Who is it?"
"I can't see him now. I felt it in the supermarket earlier. Maybe I was overthinking it."
"Ava, it's good to be cautious. How about this, I'll stay with you." Eason bent down and picked up everything on the ground, putting them back in the bag. "Ava, I'll go home with you. If there's a bad guy, I'll take him down."
"Eason, thank you. I hope I'm just overthinking it."
In this situation, calling the police wouldn't help since the person was gone. If it were just her imagination, it would be a misunderstanding.
But with Eason by her side, she did feel more relaxed.
"By the way, Eason, why are you here?"
"Ava, I came to find you, but when I saw you weren't home, I wandered around the nearby mall and ended up here. I didn't expect to see you in the supermarket."
"You could have called me. What if I wasn't here?"
"It's okay, Ava. If you're not home, you must be busy and will come back eventually. If I called you, it might disrupt your plans."
Ava suddenly felt that Eason was like an understanding and obedient son.
"Eason, it's okay. Next time you come to find me, just call me or let me know in advance."
"I got it, Ava. Let's go home."
Eason accompanied Ava back home. After putting everything away, Ava said, "Eason, stay for lunch. What would you like to eat? I'll cook for you."
