Chapter 1167 Gasping for Breath
Bishop continued knocking on the door, "Ava, can I come in?"
There was still no sound, and Sunny was still crying.
He felt a bit uneasy and opened the door, seeing Sunny crying in the cradle.
He immediately picked Sunny up, "Sunny, it's okay, I'm here, don't be afraid."
He heard the sound of running water from the bathroom, and the glass door was covered in thick steam. Ava was taking a shower inside and probably didn't hear Sunny crying.
But Sunny was crying so loudly, why didn't she hear it?
Bishop didn't think much of it and gently soothed Sunny.
"Sunny, don't cry, it's okay, I'm here. Don't cry, okay? Do you need a diaper change?"
Bishop checked Sunny's diaper; it was dry and didn't need changing.
"Sunny, are you hungry?"
Bishop hurriedly prepared some formula, but Sunny wouldn't eat.
Sunny's crying grew louder and louder, to the point where it seemed like he couldn't catch his breath.
Bishop set the bottle aside.
"Sunny, do you want Mommy to hold you? It's okay, your mom is taking a shower. She'll hold you as soon as she's done, okay? Don't cry."
Sunny was crying so hard that nothing could calm him down.
Bishop had no choice but to carry Sunny to the bathroom door and gently knocked, "Ava, sorry, I heard Sunny crying, so I came in. He's been crying non-stop. He probably wants you to hold him. Are you done with your shower?"
The sound of running water continued, but there was no response.
Bishop knocked louder, "Ava, can you hear me?"
Bishop suddenly had a bad feeling. He clenched his fist and knocked hard, almost wanting to break the glass, "Ava, what's wrong? Can you say something? Are you okay?"
Bishop's face grew more and more worried, "Ava, if you don't respond, I'm coming in."
He knocked a few more times.
Finally, the fear and anxiety in his heart forced Bishop to open the bathroom door.
As soon as he walked in, he saw Ava lying naked on the floor.
"Ava!" Bishop's face turned pale with shock!
He wanted to rush over but remembered Sunny was still in his arms.
Bishop put Sunny back in the cradle, then ran into the bathroom and bent down to pick Ava up.
Ava was soaking wet. Bishop grabbed a dry towel to wipe her down, then placed her on the bed and covered her with a blanket.
"Ava!" He gently held her face, anxiously saying, "Ava, wake up, Ava!"
He reached out to feel her forehead; the temperature was normal, but her breathing was very weak.
Bishop got up and opened the windows in the room for ventilation.
Then he came back to the bed and gently patted Ava's shoulder, "Ava, wake up."
Ava frowned slightly and slowly opened her sleepy eyes, her vision blurry.
"Sunny, my Sunny."
"Sunny is here, Sunny is fine, don't worry." Bishop held her face, "I'll take care of Sunny, don't worry. I'm taking you to the hospital."
"Sunny, Sunny."
"Sunny is fine." To reassure her, Bishop picked up Sunny from the cradle and placed him next to Ava, letting the baby's small hand touch Ava's face, "See, Sunny is perfectly fine."
Ava weakly turned her head and saw Sunny beside her. She breathed a sigh of relief, raised her hand, and gently stroked Sunny's little face.
Sunny had stopped crying now and was very quiet. He might have been crying because something happened to Ava; a mother and child are connected.
He gently touched Ava with his small hand.
Bishop immediately went to the closet and got a set of clothes, dressing Ava piece by piece.
He used a baby carrier to strap Sunny to his back, then picked Ava up, grabbed the car keys, and left the house.
