Chapter 569 Remembering Some Things

Ava returned to the hospital where William was staying.

Before going back, she called William to ask if he had dinner. William said he hadn't eaten yet, so Ava deliberately bought dinner to eat with him.

When Ava came back, William was extremely happy.

Being with William made Ava feel much more relaxed than being with Alexander, and they happily had their meal together.

William asked her how the wedding was today. Ava couldn't tell him the truth, so she could only say it was pretty good.

"Ava, when I get better, I can accompany you to many places so you won't be alone anymore," William said.

Ava agreed. "Then you should get better soon."

"I will. The doctor told me today that my recovery is going well. Depending on the situation, I might be discharged early," William shared.

Ava smiled. "That's good."

"Oh, Ava." William suddenly remembered something. "I seem to have recalled something today."

"Really?" Ava asked in surprise, "What did you remember?"

William thought for a moment. "I vaguely remember that you were crying in my arms, very sad, as if I had done something wrong. You asked me not to leave, and said I didn't want you anymore, and accused me of lying."

As William recalled, he furrowed his brow. "The image is blurry, and the conversation is fragmented, but I could feel your pain."

William grabbed her hand. "Ava, what's going on? Did I make you sad during that time?"

Upon hearing William's words, Ava remembered what happened. It was probably when she was still not divorced from Alexander. One night, she had a fever and was delirious, mistaking William for Alexander. She was at William's house at that time, and he comforted her all night long.

"And then?" Ava asked, "Besides these, did you remember anything else?"

After careful recollection, William shook his head. "No, but thinking about these things makes me uneasy. What did I do to make you so sad? Did I want to leave you, did I make a mistake, or did I do something to hurt you?"

William's voice sounded nervous, like a startled deer. Ava quickly said, "William, no, you didn't do anything to hurt me."

"Why were you crying so sadly, asking me not to leave, thinking I was lying to you? These memories make me very uneasy. I must have done something. Otherwise, you wouldn't cry like that. Ava, tell me the truth, don't worry about hurting me. If I did something wrong, I'm willing to accept any punishment. Just because I have amnesia, it doesn't mean I can absolve myself of any wrongdoing. I will take responsibility. Tell me what to do," William pleaded.

Even with amnesia, William still felt a strong sense of responsibility towards Ava. William gently grabbed Ava's arm, anxiously saying, "Tell me, it's okay."

"Let me explain." Ava gently patted his shoulder. "It's not what you think. You really didn't do anything to hurt me. The reason you have those memories is that one night, I had a fever, a nightmare, and was talking nonsense. You stayed by my side, comforting me all night, even cooking for me, taking care of me meticulously. You did nothing wrong; you've always been good to me. Please don't overthink it."
