Chapter 673 I Lost My Memory
"Are you correcting me?" the man grumbled, "I don't like it when people correct me because I'm always right."
William was about to retort when Alexander turned his head and said, "Enough, Ava is still in his hands. Can you calm down?"
"You..." William was indignant, but after thinking about it, he realized that if he shouldn't argue with Alexander now.
He had to swallow his anger for the moment.
He turned his head towards the speaker, where there was a microphone. He spoke into the microphone, "Where is Ava?"
"Open the tablet."
Alexander immediately tapped on the tablet. There was a play button on the screen, and when Alexander clicked it, Ava's image appeared. She was tied to a pole.
There was a lot of blood on the ground.
Seeing this, the two men's emotions instantly snapped.
William roared, "Damn it, what did you do to her?"
"What else could I have done? You saw it." The voice from the speaker was leisurely and unhurried, in stark contrast to William's fury.
William's eyes turned red. He forced down his anger, took a deep breath, and said, "Didn't you say you wanted to play a game? I'll play with you. Just let Ava go."
"I suddenly don't feel like playing games. It's quite nice to just watch you guys worry about this woman."
"You lunatic!" Alexander gritted his teeth.
"You know I'm a lunatic, so don't be surprised. How about we sit and have a chat?"
William said, "What do you want? Just say it!"
"I want to chat," the man said. "So let's talk calmly, no arguing. Maybe if I'm in a good mood, I'll let Ava go."
"What do you want to talk about?" Alexander asked.
After thinking for a moment, the man said, "Mr. Mitchell, being the only child in your family must be great, right? You have the attention of everyone."
Alexander thought about his past. His childhood was not happy; his parents had a strained relationship, and he was always ignored. He spent his childhood in loneliness.
Until that year, Ava appeared in his life, filling the void in his heart and making him feel complete.
But as time went on, he got used to this completeness, like air. He ignored its presence until he was suffocating, only then realizing the pain.
Nothing in this world is taken for granted. Ava being by his side was never a given.
Seeing Alexander's silence, the man pressed, "Why aren't you talking?"
"I am an only child, but..."
"Stop talking," the man suddenly interrupted. "I suddenly don't want to hear it. Mr. Bennett, tell me about your childhood."
William was slightly stunned, a glint flashing in his eyes, and he said calmly, "I have amnesia. I don't remember anything from before, including my childhood. Ask something else."
"That's right, you have amnesia," the man suddenly realized. "I almost forgot."
Suddenly, a man appeared on the screen, approaching Ava.
Alexander and William's faces turned ten times more severe than before.
"What are you doing?" Alexander asked urgently. "Don't touch her."
Suddenly, the screen went black, and the tablet showed nothing. Alexander turned the tablet around and clicked a few times, but it remained pitch black.
"What do you want?" Alexander shouted into the microphone.
