Chapter 1191 Warm and Bright
Bishop looked around, searching, occasionally kicking away the trash and debris on the ground.
But all the furniture had been moved out. If the bracelet was hidden in the furniture, it would have been taken away too.
However, if it was really hidden in the furniture, it obviously wouldn't be safe. Since Ava's parents were worried about Evelyn stealing the bracelet, they would have hidden it more securely.
Bishop gently tapped on the walls.
"Bishop, if that bracelet really exists, do you really think my parents would hide it in the house?"
Bishop said, "If that bracelet is really valuable, they definitely wouldn't entrust it to someone else. If they left it at home, they would worry about your aunt stealing it to gamble. I think if the bracelet exists, it must be hidden in a secret place. I have a feeling your parents were cautious people."
"Yes." Ava thought of her parents, her nose tingling. "They were serious and cautious in everything they did. They lived earnestly and loved their work, but I don't know why God treated them this way."
Ava lowered her head in sadness. She heard footsteps and looked up to see Bishop standing in front of her.
Bishop's palms were covered in dust. He squatted down and looked up at her, "Ava, your parents must be watching over you from heaven."
"I hope so. If there really is a heaven, I hope they are there." Ava involuntarily looked out the window.
Bishop stood up and continued searching for the bracelet.
Ava hugged Sunny in her arms and gently kissed his little face, "Sunny, your grandparents will also be watching over you from heaven."
"Grandpa and Grandma," Sunny suddenly called out.
Ava's heart leaped with joy, "Sunny."
Her sadness was somewhat dispelled by Sunny's voice.
"That's right, they are your grandparents. You must remember them."
Sunny's eyes were bright and pure. Ava couldn't help but kiss his face several times, feeling very happy.
Bishop stared at Ava and Sunny, his gaze suddenly frozen.
Sunlight poured in through the window, brightening the dilapidated scene, and the warm light illuminated their bright smiles.
Ava looked up in Bishop's direction, and their eyes met his gentle gaze. Her smile instantly froze.
She paused for a few seconds, then lowered her head and continued to soothe the child in her arms, as if avoiding something.
Bishop turned around and continued searching for the bracelet for her.
After a while, Ava, holding Sunny, came up behind him, "Bishop, why don't you hold Sunny for a bit, and I'll look around."
Feeling bad about troubling Bishop, Ava felt uneasy.
"It's okay, you go sit over there for a while. It's very dirty here, and it will get your clothes dirty."
Seeing Ava still standing there, Bishop urged again, "You should go back."
Ava nodded. As she turned around, she accidentally stepped on a wooden plank and fell to the side.
Bishop, worried that Ava's clothes would get dirty from the wall, quickly stepped forward to shield her with his body.
Ava's back fell into his arms.
Bishop's back hit the wall. His hands were covered in dust, so he wrapped his arms around her to avoid dirtying her, "Are you okay?"
Ava tightly held Sunny in her arms. After steadying herself, she turned to look at him, "I'm fine, thank you. Did I hurt you?"
Bishop shook his head, "No. But..."
He frowned slightly.
"But what?" Ava asked.
Bishop turned around and tapped the wall behind him, "I feel like there's something wrong with this wall."
