Chapter 509 Angels and Demons

Eason couldn't bear to see her break down, so he took secret action to restore blood supply to William's brain.

Physicians in these hospitals were truly brianless. Despite practicing medicine for numerous years, they paled in comparison to the research conducted by him over a mere few months. Their foolishness knew no bounds. If the world were to rely on such dimwits for advancement, it would only be a matter of time before extraterrestrial beings inflicted severe consequences upon us.

In any case, if William got better, Ava would be happy. When she was happy, he was happy. Her joy would bring him joy, and witnessing her smile filled him with immense happiness, to the extent that the thought of destroying the world became inconceivable.

After all, other men alive didn't affect him because they were all fools who were not worthy of Ava. He could take care of them at any time.

When Eason looked at Ava, he smiled like an angel, appearing harmless like a young boy. However, no one could discern the depths of terror harbored within the heart of this young man.

Ava sighed. "The doctors also say it is a miracle. I don't know if it's God helping me. However, no matter what happened, I will always keep a grateful heart. William has done so much for me. He has been by my side when I was in pain, protected me when I was hurt, and took care of me all night when I was ill. He even fought with Alexander for me, risking getting hurt himself. How many people in this world could do that? I am truly touched to have a friend like him. My only wish is to be able to help him when he needs me."

Touched?

Hearing Ava's words, Eason asked in confusion, "Sister, did you marry him because you were touched?"

Ava smirked, "Of course not. I'll tell you when I have the chance."

Her sole desire now was for William to regain his memory soon.

Previously, in order to help him, she had agreed to marry him after discussing it with William. However, now that he had no recollection of any of this, unilaterally believing they were a genuine couple, the situation had taken an unforeseen turn. In such circumstances, she could only take each step as it came.

Ava's phone rang.

She glanced at the caller ID and furrowed her brows. "Eason, excuse me for a moment, I need to take this call."

Eason nodded obediently.

Ava went out and answered the phone immediately, "Hello, Grandma."

"It's been a long time since you last called me." Scarlett sounded a bit displeased.

"I'm sorry, Grandma, I've been busy lately."

"Young people are always busy. Alexander is busy, too. You're all too busy to see me. Is it because you got divorced that you don't want to see me anymore?"

"No, Grandma. I will make time to come see you."

"When?" Before Ava could respond, Scarlett suddenly started coughing, sounding unwell.

"Grandma, are you okay?" Ava asked with concern.

"I am fine." she coughed again. "If you are busy, attend to your tasks first. I do not wish to disturb you excessively, or you will get annoyed with me."

"How could that be? I miss you, too."

Scarlett chuckled softly, "I know you didn't mean it. You attend to your own affairs first."

Ava sensed a trace of weakness in Scarlett's voice, devoid of the vitality she had heard before. Scarlett's condition might have deteriorated again.

Ava felt extremely worried and now just wanted to go back to see her grandma. These days, she had indeed neglected her grandma because of William.

"Grandma, I shall come to visit you today. I'll have dinner with you tonight."

"Really?" Scarlett's voice carried a hint of pleasant surprise. "I won't be holding you back, will I?"

"No, Grandma. I miss you and want to see you."

"Alright, come over. But can I make a small request?"

"What is it, Grandma?"

"Would both you and Alexander come here together? I wishes to dine with you both, to gather and cherish these moments together. I am uncertain of how many opportunities remain, given my health..."

At this point, Scarlett paused, the unspoken words trailing behind her like a silent echo.

"Okay, Grandma, I will come with Alexander."

"Alright, I'll wait for you to come over. I'll have the servant buy groceries now."

After hanging up the phone, Ava sighed softly.

She turned back to Eason's ward and told him she had something to attend to.

Eason was understanding and told Ava not to worry about him.

After leaving Eason's ward, Ava headed towards William's ward.
