Chapter 572 Apologizing to You
Ava never expected to meet Evelyn here.
Evelyn was Ava's aunt.
Since the day Evelyn abandoned her at the SK Group entrance, Ava had never seen her again.
After Evelyn was pushed away, a doctor came to Ava. "What are you staring at? Is she your aunt?"
Ava mechanically nodded. "Yes."
"Then come quickly. She is seriously injured and needs surgery. Come over and sign the papers!"
Feeling at a loss, Ava followed the doctor under his urging.
Several hours later, Evelyn had completed the surgery.
It was deep into the night now. Ava was exhausted. When the surgical bed was pushed out, she didn't rush over excitedly because she had no emotional attachment to Evelyn. After all that had happened back then, she couldn't feel grateful to this aunt who had abandoned her.
The reason she stayed was simply because she was her father's sister, nothing more.
"Doctor, how is she?" Ava asked as she stood up.
The doctor said, "Her leg was broken. With multiple injuries on her body, she must have been a victim of violence. We have reattached her leg and dealt with her internal bleeding. She is out of danger now and needs good rest."
Ava was shocked. She didn't know what had happened to Evelyn, but upon careful thought, it didn't seem surprising. She knew what kind of person Evelyn was—an avid gambler. Maybe it was related to this incident.
"Okay, I understand."
Ava's mood was particularly complex now. So many things had happened today, and she had encountered her aunt, whom she hadn't seen for a long time.
Evelyn was taken to the hospital ward, and Ava paid all the expenses for her and completed the procedures, feeling utterly exhausted. She then returned to William's ward, moving cautiously, and after washing up, she went to sleep.
Early the next morning, William woke up. After breakfast, Ava pushed him outside for a walk. Basking in the sunlight, William's mood improved and turned exceptionally bright.
William was worried that Ava might get tired, so they soon returned to the ward. After Ava settled William in the room, she found Vicky waiting for them.
"Vicky, you're here." William smiled at her warmly.
Seeing William's smile, Vicky felt happy. "William, do you remember me?"
William shook his head. "No, but I know you are my sister, and you are very kind."
Vicky felt somewhat comforted.
She looked at Ava and remembered their conflict from yesterday. When their eyes met, there was a sudden awkwardness.
William noticed something was off and asked, "What's wrong with you two? Is there something going on?"
"William, can I talk to Ava alone for a moment? It won't take long," Vicky asked.
William smiled. "Why are you asking me about this? You should ask her."
Vicky looked at Ava. "Is it okay?"
Ava nodded. "Sure."
Then, they walked out of the ward.
Outside the ward, Ava said, "Vicky, about yesterday's issue, I know you have misunderstandings, but this matter is complicated. Sometimes, we can't fully explain something; you can only understand it by experiencing it yourself..."
"I didn't mean to talk about that," Vicky interrupted her, "I came today to apologize to you."
