Chapter 657 I Changed It

When Ava opened her eyes, she found herself lying in a room.

She felt sore all over and carefully sat up in bed, taking a glance around.

'Where am I?' she thought.

"You're awake." A voice suddenly came from the room.

Startled, Ava immediately looked in the direction of the sound, but saw no one there.

Then the man's voice came again. "Why are you so scared? I'm not going to eat you."

There was a note of amusement in his voice.

That was when Ava noticed a small speaker on the bedside table; the voice was coming from it. He knew she was awake, which meant he had eyes on her. There must be surveillance cameras in the room.

Ava croaked out, "Who are you?"

"Does it really matter?"

Hearing his words, Ava laughed in exasperation, "You killed all the kidnappers and brought me here. Shouldn't I know who you are? At least tell me your purpose."

"No purpose, just bored. I like doing strange things every now and then."

"This is a strange thing to you?" Ava asked, "How did you know I was kidnapped and you just happened to save me? Have you been investigating me all along?"

She had a vague feeling that this man had something to do with what had happened to William. She couldn't help but make the connection.

"What do you think?" the man retorted.

Ava said, "Anyway, I'm in your hands now. whatever you want to say, just spit it out. There's no need to hide. If you don't say what you want, then what's the point of tying me up here?"

"Tying you here?" The man sneered, "If it weren't for me, you'd be dead by now. I'm the one who untied you."

Ava nervously asked, "So, can I go home now?"

"No," he answered bluntly.

"So, this is just a roundabout way of kidnapping. Even though you saved me, I'm still not free."

"Are you trying to reason with me? Telling me what's right and wrong?" the man scoffed.

"Seems like it is pointless. I just want to know what you want."

"Don't worry." The man said, "Your people will come to save you, and you'll go home safely."

Hearing the man's cold voice, Ava felt he wasn't a good person, but she also felt he wasn't lying to her. He had no reason to deceive her.

"Will I really go home safely?"

"What else? If I had bad intentions, would you still be lying so comfortably in bed?"

At the mention of lying in bed, Ava seemed to remember something. She glanced down at herself and found she was in clean pajamas and that her body appeared to have been bathed. She asked in a panic, "Who changed my clothes and bathed me?"

"Well, who do you think? I did it myself." He said, "Changed your clothes, wiped you down with a towel. Your skin is like porcelain, smooth as silk."

By the end, his voice took on a slightly mischievous tone.

Ava wrapped herself tightly in the blanket, trembling. "You..."

She wanted to curse him, but what good would that do now?

She felt no discomfort in her body, so he probably hadn't done anything untoward to her. He had just cleaned her up and changed her clothes.

Although he was despicable, it was much better than being in the hands of those kidnappers.
