Chapter 314 Psychological Trauma

The way she smoked was extraordinarily flattering and sexy, and even Ava, a woman, felt flustered by it.

If she were a man, she would be moved.

It’s really hard to understand what kind of first lover my father-in-law was looking for back in the day to be able to treat my mother-in-law like that.

Why didn’t he cherish such a stunning beauty in front of him?

As a saying goes, a man will indeed cheat even if his wife is a fairy, because he hasn’t seen a ‘pig’.

Ava didn’t know what she was laughing at.

Mia took a drag from her cigarette and blew out a cloud of smoke. “No, it’s still the same.”

Ava was confused. “Then why is he...”

“Why is he here, and why do I have an ambiguous relationship with him?”

Ava awkwardly smiled. “If you don’t want to say, it’s fine.”

“There’s nothing I can’t say.” Mia flicked off some ash from her cigarette. “Every adults have needs. I can’t be alone all the time. There’s nothing wrong with maintaining some special relationships. George is competent in sexual matters and he can satisfy me.”

Ava: “...”

Her mother-in-law lived so freely.

But they were a married couple. Adults have physiological needs, so there’s nothing wrong with maintaining a relationship.

Ava suddenly realized that Mia was living a very transparent life. Emotionally distant from George, she focused only on physical satisfaction, which was also good.

Not concerned about emotions, just enjoying happiness.
Ava knew she couldn’t do it. Maybe deep down in her heart, she still couldn’t fully hate Alexander.
If she really hated him, there was no way she would let Alexander touch her.
She couldn’t be as carefree as Mia.
Seeing Ava remain silent, Mia said lightly, “What’s wrong? Do you think I’m wrong? It’s strange that I don’t accept him but still maintain a relationship with him, isn’t it?”
“No,” Ava shook her head, explained, “I don’t think that way. It is your private life with Dad, and I absolutely won’t say anything extra about it. It’s your freedom.”
They were both adults who did not need to be criticized and educated, and Ava had no right to educate them.
Mia stubbed out her cigarette in the ashtray. “How’s Alex?”
In reality, she had asked Ava to stay here so she could inquire about Alexander.
“Alex...” Ava hesitated, her eyes turned into hesitation.
Mia frowned, “What are you hesitating for? Tell me.”
Alexander was Mia’s son, so she was worried about him since something had happened last time.
“Mom, Alex had a nightmare the night before. He kept calling for you, saying that when he grew up, he would take care of you and protect you. But in his dream, it seem that you weren’t there, and he was really scared.”
Mia gripped her hem tightly, trembling slightly.
She took out another cigarette from the pack and placed it between her lips. With a snap, the flame ignited, and she took a sharp puff.
“Oh really?” Mia lightly tugged at the corner of her mouth. “He’s already grown up and still needs his mom, acting like a child. How immature.”
Ava furrowed her brows tightly. “Mom, are those your true thoughts?”
“Isn’t it right?” Mia said, “He’s already in his twenties. He can’t have his mother by his side anymore. That’s so scary. If he becomes a mama’s boy, I’d be embarrassed.”
“Mom, you know he’s not like that,” Ava said unhappily, “He has wounds in his heart stemming from his childhood loneliness. The bad relationship between you and dad has had a big impact on him.”
