Chapter 1036 Heart Failure
Alexander returned to Madison's hospital room.
Madison said, "Alexander, you're back."
Alexander sat by Madison's bedside, staring at her. He wanted to ask something but couldn't bring himself to say it. He didn't want to believe Madison was that kind of person.
But on second thought, this matter did indeed benefit Madison.
However, the premise for this benefit was that she really was that kind of person.
Madison asked, "What's wrong, Alexander? Did something happen?"
Alexander forced a smile. "It's nothing."
He held Madison's hand. "Madison, there's something I hope you can tell me."
Suddenly, Madison clutched her heart, collapsed onto the bed, and passed out.
"Madison." Alexander anxiously picked her up from the bed. "Madison, what's wrong? Wake up!"
"Doctor!" Alexander shouted towards the door.
Madison's heart suddenly failed, and she needed a heart transplant within three days.
Now, her vital signs could only be maintained by machines.
Upon learning the news, Alexander felt an overwhelming sense of anguish.
Madison was indeed waiting for a heart, but with careful care, she shouldn't have deteriorated so suddenly. How could this happen?
Although the hospital had moved Madison's name up on the transplant list, making her the first to receive a suitable heart, finding a matching heart was no easy task.
What if Madison died in Stellaria? Alexander sat by Madison's bedside, grasping her hand, praying fervently for her recovery.
Ava finished her classes for the day and immediately went to the hospital to see Bishop.
She stayed with Bishop, had dinner with him, and chatted for a while.
Bishop asked her what she had learned at school today.
Ava told him everything.
Although the content was somewhat obscure and not in Bishop's field, he still listened intently, his gaze always focused on Ava.
Seeing him listen so attentively, Ava talked even more. When she finished, she wondered if she had been too long-winded.
Ava asked, "Sorry, did I bore you with all that?"
"Not at all. It's good. I get to learn something new. I finally know what the BDI index is. You can tell me more often and teach me. In this age, you can't get by without knowledge. I'm so uneducated; I didn't even finish high school."
"Don't say that," Ava comforted. "You had to drop out to take care of your sister and make money. You're already amazing."
"But my sister still died." Bishop's eyes dimmed.
Ava's expression froze. Just as she was about to comfort him, Bishop said first, "It's okay, you don't need to comfort me."
He knew what Ava was going to say.
Bishop added, "I will live well."
When Christina died and his revenge was complete, he didn't care whether he lived or died.
But now it was different.
When he looked at Ava, a subtle emotion seemed to reflect in his eyes.
"If you like listening, I'll tell you more often. You can ask me to talk about anything. If I don't know, I'll learn."
Ava wanted to do something for him. Since he was willing to listen, she was naturally willing to talk.
