Chapter 1150 The Malicious Sisters
"Alexander, what are you doing here?"
"I was worried about you, so I came to check on you. What's going on here?"
Isn't that Eason? How did he get so close to George?
"Alexander, this is Eason."
"I know him, he's Ava's friend."
"Really? You're Ava's friend?" George said in surprise, "I didn't know that."
Eason said, "I didn't know at first either. I only found out when I got here. We really are fated to meet."
"Dad, how did you two meet?" Alexander asked with a frown.
"We met by the seaside. I got out of the car for some fresh air, and he thought I was in a bad place and came to comfort me. That's how we met."
Alexander seemed to sense something, "Dad, the day you're talking about, could it be..."
"Alright," George interrupted him, "It's nothing. I was just getting some fresh air. You don't need to worry. Anyway, it's good to know Eason."
Seeing George's affectionate expression, one might think Eason was his child.
Alexander always felt something was off about Eason, but he had no evidence.
"Dad, I'm heading out now. We'll be sending Grandma off soon."
George nodded, "Okay, I'll be out in a moment."
After the farewell ceremony, Scarlett's ashes were officially buried.
The atmosphere at the scene was particularly somber, with many people standing in front of the tombstone.
The Mitchell family stood at the front, closest to the tombstone. Everyone was dressed in black, solemn and respectful.
Ava held Sunny and cried continuously, biting her lip to keep from sobbing out loud.
Madison and William were also present, but they stood at the back since they weren't part of the Mitchell family.
Madison and Emily were whispering to each other, so they stood even further away, talking in hushed tones.
Alexander turned his head and saw Ava looking like she was about to collapse. He was very worried, "Let me hold Sunny for a while."
Ava could barely hold back her emotions. She handed Sunny to Alexander, "I'm going to the restroom, I'll be right back."
She covered her mouth and left, crying.
Suddenly, Ava heard voices not far away, carried to her ears by the wind.
"Scarlett is buried today, so this matter is finally over."
"Yes," Madison said, "Only now do I feel completely at ease. No one will talk about our business. Alexander is so sad right now. After the funeral, I need to comfort him properly."
As they were talking, they suddenly saw someone standing not far away.
It was Ava. They didn't know when she had appeared.
They immediately felt guilty.
Madison quickly changed her expression and said solemnly, "Ava, don't be too sad."
"What were you just talking about?" Ava asked, frowning.
"Nothing, nothing at all," Madison said, "Emily and I were just chatting."
With that, Madison pulled Emily towards the tombstone.
"Stop right there," Ava chased after them.
But Madison and Emily ran quickly.
They soon reached Alexander's side.
They thought that in such a heavy atmosphere, Ava wouldn't dare to make a scene.
The two stood straight behind Alexander.
Ava rushed over and grabbed Madison's hand, "What did you mean by what you just said? Why would no one know about your business now that Grandma is buried?"
