Chapter 1185 This is Hilarious

"Look at them, they just keep repeating the same insults, saying I have mental issues, that I'm promiscuous, and that I like to mess around with men. They insist on conflating the characters in my novels with me as the author. It's laughable."

The author laughed as she spoke, "I'm single, I don't care about men at all. I'm always traveling around the world, where would I find the time to mess around with men? By their logic, everyone who writes ghost stories must be a ghost, and everyone who writes crime thrillers must be a criminal. It's just stupid."

"Exactly," Ava said. "Novels are fictional, no matter how absurd they are, they're made up. I believe the author is just presenting a story based on what they've seen and heard, combined with their imagination. It doesn't necessarily represent the author themselves. But these comments really reflect a person's character."

"Well said," the author immediately noted down Ava's words on her phone. "I need to put that in my book. What you said is just perfect."

"Actually, your book feels a bit like my own experiences. I came to see you today to ask for a favor. Of course, only if you're willing. If not, I won't force you."

The author looked at her, puzzled. "What kind of favor?"

Ava lowered her head. "It's a complicated matter. I've been reading your book these past few days, trying to finish the plot so we could have a common topic. But I can't lie to you, I still want to tell you the truth."

"The truth?" The author seemed to guess something. "You're not really a fan of mine. You read my book just because you needed a favor from me?" The author grew more curious. "So, tell me, what is it?"

Curiosity was an essential trait for an author.

Without curiosity, without exploring and digging into various stories, how could one write compelling plots?

"Here's the thing."

Ava briefly explained the situation to the author, and by the end, she was in tears.

The author was silent for a moment after listening, then finally spoke, "People who enjoy online harassment can do such malicious things. Even the worst assumptions about them aren't enough."

"There was a time when some natural disasters happened in certain parts of the country. I checked Emily's IP address, and it was right in the disaster area. During that time, she didn't come to insult me. I even wondered if something had happened to her because of the disaster, and why she wasn't insulting me anymore. I was a bit worried about her. But a few days later, she came back to read my book and insult me in the comments. Seeing she was still alive, I felt relieved. Now that I think about it, I shouldn't have worried about her."

Ava said, "So, you're actually quite kind."

The author replied, "Next time, I won't waste my kindness on brainless people who only know how to insult others."

She handed Ava a few tissues. "So, how do you want me to help you?"

Ava said, "I see your book is still being serialized. Do you have the entire plot planned out?"

"Oh, I get it," the author suddenly realized. "You want me to write their behavior into the book? Since Emily is always reading my book, she'll definitely find the plot familiar."

Ava nodded. "That's right. But this might change the original pace of your novel. Don't worry, I'll pay you for the manuscript. Name your price."

"I don't want money," the author held Ava's hand and gently patted the back of it. "Adding these plots won't affect me much. If it can help you solve the case, it's a good thing."

"Thank you so much. If you need anything, just let me know. If you ever regret it and want compensation, you can come to me," Ava said, not wanting to take advantage of the author.

"No problem, I'll definitely help you with this."

"Thank you," Ava said, crying. "Thank you."

She hadn't expected such kindness from a stranger.

Yet in this world, there are some people so malicious that they want to destroy innocent lives.
