Chapter 625 Too Insidious
Just after speaking, Ava regretted it. She shouldn't have said that she had spent the whole night reading the report. Didn't that basically admit to William that she stayed up all night? He would definitely worry again.
Sure enough, William's expression changed.
"So you didn't get up this morning because you didn't sleep all night, staying up to look up information for me, even though you're pregnant? You still think of me so much?"
Seeing the tears welling up in William's eyes, Ava was afraid he would cry and quickly said, "William, it's okay. You used to stay up all night with me, too. You were very good to me. Even though I slept late last night, I also got up late. I got enough sleep, so don't worry."
"But I don't remember anything now. Alexander was right; I'm useless now. I need your protection and care." William hung his head in shame.
With a simple sentence, he managed to both accuse Alexander again and show his guilt.
"Don't say that," Ava hurriedly said, "William, how about this? I'll show you the information, and you can think about it."
William nodded. "Okay, I'll take a look first."
Ava opened the laptop on the table, logged into her email account, and opened the documents. "These are all in Spanish. Do you still remember Spanish?"
William glanced at it, thought for a moment, and nodded. "I recognize it. I haven't forgotten."
"That's great," Ava said, "You haven't forgotten these skills, which is a good thing. This medical institution has even cured people who forgot their skills and knowledge. Compared to them, you're much better."
William smiled gently. "Hearing what you say makes me confident. I'll look at these first. You should go eat, you haven't had breakfast yet."
Ava nodded. "Alright, I'll go get something to eat."
Even if she didn't want to eat, the baby in her belly needed to.
Suddenly, Ava thought of something, "By the way, Elinor..."
"I sent her away after breakfast. You don't need to worry."
"That's good. You can contact her later. I'll head out now."
William responded, "Okay."
After Ava left the room, William's previously gentle expression turned cold.
Despite the pleasant conversation he shared with Elinor, Ava's proactive attempts to meddle in their budding relationship left him disconcerted. Even though he clandestinely acknowledged his sham marriage to Ava, his unease persisted.
He knew that Ava didn't want to be intimate with him, not because of hormonal changes but because their marriage was fake.
He accommodated her, not wanting to make her uncomfortable or scared, so he pretended not to know.
But William didn't know how much longer he could hold on, felling like he was going crazy.
Ava returned to the room to get her phone, planning to call Brandon to ask about the medical institution.
As soon as the screen lit up, she saw a red dot on WhatsApp. It was a message from Alexander.
Ava opened it and saw the content Alexander sent, frowned slightly. Then she saw the video he sent her.
Ava played the video and was stunned by what she saw.
Although William had already told her about this, when she saw it with her own eyes, she still scared. William in the video seemed like a completely different person.
She couldn't believe this was William, but the evidence was right in front of her, and William had already told her the truth.
The video was a shock to Ava, but since William had told her beforehand, she wasn't as surprised.
Thinking about it, it was quite a coincidence. William had told her about this just a few minutes before. If he had told her a few minutes later, she would have seen the video and confronted William, making the situation very ugly.
Ava watched the video again and shivered when she saw William's sly smile at Alexander.
She closed her eyes, took a deep breath, and told herself that William had already confessed and admitted his mistake.
After calming herself, Ava called Alexander.
The phone was answered within two seconds, "Ava, did you see the video?" Alexander's voice was anxious.
Ava said, "I saw it."
Alexander sighed in relief. "Now you understand. I was telling the truth. William framed me. He's too insidious. You can't be with someone like that."
