Chapter 956 Shocking

Seeing Ava drenched in blood, even if it wasn't hers, was still a shocker.

He scooped her up in his arms, ready to get out of there.

"What are you doing? I want to stay. I need to wait for him," Ava protested.

"Ava, the surgery's gonna take a while. Let me get you cleaned up and into some fresh clothes. That way, when he comes out and sees you, he'll feel better, okay?" Alexander said gently.

Ava bit her lip and nodded. "Okay."

Alexander found a VIP room for Ava.

The room was empty.

He had someone bring a clean set of clothes for her.

The clothes were still on their way.

Ava kept crying.

Alexander hugged her from behind by the sink. He turned on the faucet and started wiping her hands and face with a towel. "Hold still, let's get this blood off you."

"Alexander, there's so much blood. Did he lose too much? Is he gonna be okay?" Ava was like a lost child, completely overwhelmed.

"The doctors are giving him a blood transfusion. He'll be fine, Ava. Open your hands, let me clean them," Alexander reassured her.

Ava was drenched in the smell of blood, looking like she'd lost her soul. Alexander was really worried about her.

He wiped her hands, arms, and face, then reached to unbutton her shirt to clean her up more.

Ava's heart raced, and she snapped back to reality, grabbing his hand. "What are you doing?"

Alexander was taken aback, meeting her panicked eyes. He suddenly remembered that they were divorced.

He'd acted on instinct, like they were still married, and started unbuttoning her shirt to clean her up.

But they weren't married anymore. How could he touch her like that?

Yet, his arm around her waist didn't want to let go.

Ava, with tear-filled eyes, stared at him. After a long pause, she took the blood-stained towel. "I can wash myself. Please leave."

Alexander sighed softly and reluctantly let her go. "Alright, I'll wait outside. Call me if you need anything."

Ava nodded.

Alexander left the bathroom and closed the door.

Ava stood in front of the mirror and washed her face.

She noticed her eyes were swollen from crying.

'Bishop, you'll be okay,' she thought to herself.

Not long after, someone brought a set of women's clothes.

Alexander took the clothes to the bathroom door and knocked.

"Ava."

"Ava?"

He knocked for a while, but there was no response.

Alexander started to panic.

"Ava, if you're okay, please say something."

"Ava, make a sound, or I'm coming in."

With no response, Alexander grew more worried.

"Ava, I'm coming in." He opened the door and found Ava collapsed on the floor.

"Ava." The bag of clothes in his hand fell to the ground.

He rushed forward and picked her up. "Ava, are you okay?"

Ava slowly opened her eyes, asking, "Alexander, is his surgery over?"

"Not yet, it's only been an hour since it started," Alexander replied.
