Chapter 1181 A Novel
Time flew by, and in the blink of an eye, half a month had passed.
Ava had been cooperating with a doctor for her psychological issues but hadn't taken any medication.
The doctor initially wanted to prescribe medication, but Ava switched doctors.
She didn't have severe mental problems and didn't need medication. Psychiatric drugs have significant side effects, and she thought a doctor who prescribed them without considering the specific situation was incompetent.
Fortunately, she later switched to a female doctor, and things improved a lot. The female doctor didn't prescribe any medication but provided a lot of psychological counseling. She told Ava that her issues didn't warrant medication; it was just temporary depression and anxiety, not severe depression.
After returning home, with Bishop by her side providing emotional support, Ava felt much better.
"Ava, I've changed Sunny's diaper, fed her, and washed the clothes. What do you want for dinner?"
Ava was silent.
"What's wrong? Why are you standing there?" Bishop asked.
Ava was surprised that Bishop had done all her tasks, leaving her with nothing to do.
"I'll make dinner. You've worked hard today."
"It's okay, you rest. I'll handle everything."
He liked taking care of her, liked doing things for her. It made him happy to let her sleep a bit more.
Maybe this is what happens when you truly care about someone; you can't help but do things for them.
He couldn't help but please her, making her happy made him happy too.
"Bishop, thank you for taking care of me during this time. If it weren't for you, maybe..."
"Even without me, you could take care of yourself. I'm just adding a bit of extra help," Bishop said modestly.
Ava was momentarily speechless; his words always made her feel warm.
"Tonight, I'll make roasted chicken legs for you. I specifically learned how to make them."
As Bishop spoke, he walked into the kitchen and took out the chicken legs he had bought today from the fridge.
Seeing this, Ava didn't stop him.
She returned to the room and went to Sunny's cradle to be with her.
The phone on the bedside table vibrated.
Ava picked up the phone and answered, "Hello, how's the investigation going?"
She had hired the best private detective to investigate Madison and Emily.
Bishop had also been keeping an eye on them these past few days but hadn't noticed anything unusual.
Madison and Emily hadn't shown any suspicious behavior; they were living their lives as usual, occasionally going shopping.
The detective said there was nothing suspicious about them at the moment.
Ava frowned, "You haven't found anything at all?"
How could they be so clean, leaving no evidence behind?
"Ms. Anderson, I believe if they are really suspects, they would have cleaned up all the evidence thoroughly. We need to find another way to break through."
"What way?" Ava asked, "Do you have any ideas?"
"I have a rather bold idea."
"It's okay, as long as it can make them slip up, any bold idea is fine."
The detective said, "When Emily and Madison were shopping, I followed them to see if I could find anything. Later, when they got tired, Madison went to the restroom, and Emily sat outside waiting. She was looking at her phone and cursing. When I got closer, I found she was reading a novel. She was cursing very harshly, but it seemed like she hated it yet couldn't stop reading it, constantly insulting the author."
Ava asked in confusion, "I don't understand what this has to do with the novel?"
"Here's the thing," the detective said, "I heard Emily mention the names of the main characters while cursing the book. I remembered them and searched for it later. I found out that Emily has been leaving extremely vulgar and nasty comments on the author's page for months. So, I have an idea."
