Chapter 769 Severe Ties

William looked at Mia, feeling a bit nervous.

Finally, Mia spoke up, "Alright, if that's how it is, then so be it. Alexander ignoring you means he wants to cut ties. You two shouldn't meet anymore."

This was all Mia could do now.

The doomed relationship needed to end.

William truly loved Ava and would treat her well.

As for Alexander, he had given up and hidden away. He was in a slump, and anything he did would just make Ava sad.

He really wasn't right for Ava.

Alexander didn't know how to take care of others, while William was smart and knew how to cherish the woman he loved.

William furrowed his brows, puzzled. He hadn't expected Mia to say this.

He thought Mia would tell Ava that Alexander wasn't around last night.

"If Ava knew, she wouldn't hesitate. She'd go straight to Alexander for answers.

'Why didn't she say anything? And since she came in, her attitude towards me seems different. What happened? Her attitude towards me has completely changed,' William thought.

Ava heard Mia's words and gave a bitter smile.

"Maybe Alexander and I will never meet again. He doesn't want our child or answer my calls. Clearly, he doesn't want to see or talk to me anymore. What else can I do?"

Ava was tired.

She had really tried, but Alexander truly didn't want to see her anymore.

Mia sighed and stood up.

"Ava, take care of yourself and safely give birth to the child. Mr. Bennett loves you, and you have support."

Ava was surprised to hear Mia say this since she had always opposed her being with William.

"Mom, why are you today..."

Mia smiled and said, "Although Alexander is my son, he hurt you. Besides, you're already married to William, so I have to face reality."

She walked up and gently touched Ava's hair. "You and Alexander should completely cut ties. Try not to see or contact each other anymore, or you'll keep suffering."

Ava nodded painfully. "I understand."

Mia turned and left with tears streaming down her face.

Ava felt something was off with Mia. "Mom..."

She wanted to call Mia back, but Mia ignored her and just walked away.

William noticed and said, "Ava, I'll go see her off."

After speaking, William followed her out.

In the hallway, William caught up.

"Wait a minute."

Mia stopped and turned around, quickly wiping the tears from her face.

"Mr. Bennett, what's up?"

"Why are you calling me Mr. Bennett today and being so polite? Why aren't you calling me a bastard anymore?"

Mia's heart ached, and she said, "I was too impatient yesterday, so I cursed at you. I apologize."

William narrowed his eyes. "I get the polite act you put on for Ava, but now that she's not here, you don't need to pretend."

Mia forced a smile. "I'm not pretending. I sincerely apologize. I shouldn't have acted that way yesterday. Does your face still hurt?"

Mia involuntarily reached out her hand, wanting to touch him.

William quickly stepped back. "What are you doing?"

'Why is she so strange today?' William was confused.

Yesterday she wanted to kill him, but today her gaze towards him was like she was looking at her own child.

William thought she might be schizophrenic.

"Sorry." Mia awkwardly withdrew her hand. "I just feel very ashamed. I shouldn't have hit you."
