Chapter 835 A Wish

A black sedan cruised down the road.

Alexander gripped the wheel, eyes straight ahead.

Madison sat beside him, clutching her seatbelt, heart racing.

Being in the car with Alexander made her nervous.

She adored him so much that she feared any clumsy move might ruin her image.

The silence was awkward, so Madison spoke up, "Mia and George look perfect together, don't they?"

Alexander replied, "They just look that way."

Madison felt puzzled, thinking, 'Do his parents not get along? Why does his family feel off?'

She was about to ask when Alexander said, "Sorry about before."

Madison asked, "What do you mean?"

Alexander explained, "At the hospital, I left without a word. And last time, I said some harsh things. You didn't hold it against me and even helped me. I'm really grateful."

Madison felt relieved. "I know you didn't mean it. You were being honest with me, which is better than lying."

"I'm not better than other men. Otherwise, Ava wouldn't have left me."

Alexander's pain was evident.

Madison added, "But you know you were wrong. Everyone makes mistakes. Don't be too hard on yourself."

Alexander's lips twitched, pain flashing in his eyes.

"Nothing matters to me anymore."

"My mom said I should treat you to a meal." Alexander changed the subject. "What do you want to eat? Consider it a thank you. I might need your help again."

Madison said, "It's okay. I'm happy to help. No need for a meal."

Alexander insisted, "At least tell me if you need help or have a wish. Maybe I'll make it happen."

He didn't want to owe her.

"A wish," Madison pondered for a moment, then said, "I want to travel to Stellaria. I've never been abroad and want to see the scenery and culture."

"I'll get you a ticket, plan the trip, and find someone to go with you. I'll cover all the costs."

For Alexander, it was easy.

Madison smiled, "I could save up and go myself, but I'm not in good health now."

"As long as someone goes with you," Alexander said. "It's not safe alone. You need company."

Madison felt touched by his thoughtfulness.

Just then, a shadow flashed in front of them.

Alexander hit the brakes.

The car jolted, and Madison lurched forward.

Thankfully, they wore seatbelts and weren't hurt.

Madison asked, "What happened?"

Alexander frowned, "Stay here. I'll check."

He unbuckled and got out.
