Brandon didn't answer Hailey's question, but his eyes revealed it all—he definitely cared about Mia.
"Brandon, I swear I didn't say anything bad about her to Mom. When Mom asked Vicky to help investigate, I even warned Vicky to mind her words, so Vicky also remained silent. You have to believe me that I really didn't harm Mia."
Seeing how anxious Brandon was, Hailey knew that this matter had something to do with Mandy.
Although Vicky hadn't told Mandy before, with Mandy's intelligence, she might have found out something behind the scenes. But no one could have expected Mandy to hold a grudge for so long and suddenly act on it now.
"Hailey, you know Mom's temper. Once she holds a grudge, Mia is in danger. Can you think of any clues that could help me find her?" He trusted Hailey's character, but he didn't trust Mandy's.
"Brandon, I don't know where Mom is right now. Let me call her."
"She won't answer your call."
"Then what should we do? Brandon, why don't you use your influence to search everywhere? Don't be so anxious. We will find her."
"Hailey, how can I not be anxious?"
After living half a lifetime, he accidentally fell in love with Mia. How could he not be anxious after Mia was missing?
Just then, a car slowly pulled up to the door.
They turned to look and saw the car drive in and stop beside them.
The driver got out and opened the back door. Mandy leisurely stepped out, looking particularly elegant and nonchalant.
Seeing Brandon, Mandy was both surprised and delighted.
"Brandon, what are you doing here so late?"
Brandon's face changed dramatically, and he rushed forward to ask, "Mom, you..."
"Mom." Hailey stepped forward and pulled Brandon back, saying, "When I was on the phone with Brandon, I mentioned that I didn't feel well. Brandon was worried about me and came over right away."
"Really?" Mandy quickly stepped forward and gently held her arm. "Hailey, what ails you?"
"At first, my stomach was a bit uncomfortable, but now it's much better."
"Why didn't you let the driver take you to the hospital? Come on, I'll take you to the hospital."
"It's okay," Hailey said. "The hospital is all emergency cases now, and it's not a big deal."
"How can a stomachache not be a big deal? You can't delay it," Mandy said worriedly.
"Mom, I'm really fine. I don't feel anything now. Maybe I ate a bit too much tonight, so my stomach was uncomfortable. I was just making a fuss."
Brandon glanced at Hailey. He opened his mouth to say something, but Hailey gave him a smile and made a gesture, signaling him not to act impulsively.
Brandon also knew Mandy's temper. The more he questioned her at this critical moment, the less she would say.
If he had acted impulsively just now, Mia might be in even more danger. After all, Mandy did things without giving anything away.
Brandon sopke up, "Mom, I was really worried about Hailey, but when I got here, I was relieved to see she was fine. By the way, I called you, but you didn't answer. I was so worried, fearing something had happened to you."
Mandy smiled. "My phone ran out of battery. Don't worry; I was just out having some fun. Even though I'm almost 70, I still have a bit of a nightlife."
