Chapter 1149 Honor and Disgrace Coexist

The doctor said that Scarlett was fine last night, but early this morning, her body suddenly developed a blood clot. Despite all efforts to save her, they ultimately failed.

The people in the ward were still crying and blaming themselves.

Outside the ward, Madison and Emily saw this scene and both breathed a sigh of relief. The two of them went to a place where no one was around.

"Emily, you did a great job. Now both of us are safe."

"That's right, I feel relieved too. Scarlett's death is a good thing."

Emily stretched lazily, "Don't forget what you promised me. Once you become Alexander's wife, we'll share him together."

Emily couldn't wait to have sex with Alexander.

Madison patted the back of her hand, "Of course, we're sisters. Even without you, he would have other women. So, we sisters must keep him tightly under control and share both honor and disgrace."

"Yeah, yeah." There was a naive stupidity in Emily's eyes.

Madison's smile was full of hidden malice.

Did Emily really think she could share Alexander with her?

She should look in the mirror and see who she really is. Does she even deserve it?

Scarlett left just like that.

The Mitchell family was heartbroken, but they had to face reality and began to prepare for her funeral.

On the third day, many people came to the farewell ceremony.

The Mitchell family thanked everyone one by one. William, Vicky, and Brandon also came.

When William walked up to Ava, Ava bowed to him in thanks according to etiquette.

William noticed that Ava seemed to have lost weight and said worriedly, "Ava, if there's anything you need, you can tell me."

"Thank you," Ava said indifferently without looking up, "Please come inside."

William didn't say much and walked inside.

Brandon came up to Mia.

Mia still had injuries on her face, but she had covered them with concealer, so they weren't noticeable unless you looked closely.

Upon learning of Scarlett's death, Mia had returned home three days ago.

"Mrs. Mitchell, don't be too sad."

Mia responded softly, "Thank you."

Mia's attitude towards Brandon had become much colder.

George glared at him with a look of hatred, but since it was Scarlett's funeral, he couldn't act out here.

Brandon ignored his gaze and sincerely gave him a very apologetic look before walking inside.

After Brandon left, George turned and asked, "Have you been with him these past few days?"

"I don't need to explain to you. I already made it clear over the phone," Mia said coldly. "I don't want to argue with you here."

George took a deep breath and suppressed his anger, "I'll go rest for a while and be right back."

In the resting area, George took out a cigarette in frustration.

Scarlett's death, his strained relationship with Mia, and her lover Brandon's blatant presence at the funeral were driving George crazy.

Just then, a voice came, "Uncle George."

George saw Eason and immediately stood up, "Eason, you're here."

"I came to check on you. Uncle George, you must be very sad right now. I don't know what to say to comfort you because I know words are useless. When my mom passed away, I was in so much pain that nothing anyone said helped."

George lowered his head, tears welling up in his eyes, "Eason, thank you."

"Uncle George." Eason stepped forward and hugged him, gently patting his back. "If you're feeling sad, you can talk to me. I can keep you company, have meals, chat, whatever you need. Just don't bottle it up inside."

"Thank you, Eason, thank you."

George hugged Eason, finally feeling a bit of comfort.

A cold smile appeared at the corner of Eason's mouth.

George had no idea that this seemingly kind and understanding young man was actually an illegitimate child who had caused Scarlett's death.

Eason had given Madison the drug that killed Scarlett.

Alexander walked in and saw George and Eason hugging. He frowned, "Dad."
