Chapter 948 Misunderstanding
Seeing Ava still breathing, Alexander sighed in relief.
He remembered the gut-wrenching search earlier, stumbling upon countless bodies, each one sinking him deeper into despair.
But in the end, he didn't find Ava among them. Instead, he found a bunch of missing people.
Now, he had finally found her, and she was alive. But who knew what kind of hell she had been through?
Alexander's heart was a tangled mess.
"Alexander, is that really you?" Ava looked at him, eyes wide with disbelief. "What are you doing here?"
She never thought Alexander would be the one to show up.
Vincent squinted and turned to her, "Isn't this guy the one from TV, your ex-husband?"
Ava nodded, "Yeah, he's my ex."
Seeing it was Alexander, Ava felt a wave of relief wash over her.
"Ava, come here, quick." Alexander reached out to her, his voice urgent.
"Alexander, why are you here?" Ava was puzzled.
"Of course, I'm here to save you. You went missing, and I lost my mind looking for you!" Alexander said, his voice frantic.
"You came just for me?" Ava had thought Alexander was also Vincent's enemy.
"Ava, get over here, stay away from him!" Alexander urged.
"Alexander, you've got it all wrong! It's not what you think!" Ava tried to explain.
Ava stepped forward, "Alexander, his name is Vincent, he is my..."
Before she could finish, Alexander yanked her behind him and raised his gun, aiming at Vincent.
Vincent, quick as a cat, dodged immediately, but more bullets followed, whizzing past him!
Everyone was firing at him. Vincent dove behind a table for cover, but he still couldn't dodge all the bullets!
"No!" Ava screamed.
The room was filled with the deafening sound of gunfire, drowning out Ava's voice.
"Alexander, stop!" She grabbed Alexander desperately, shouting, "Tell them to stop, stop now!"
"Ava, what are you doing? He's a criminal, he's hurting you, are you out of your mind?" He couldn't understand why Ava was protecting Vincent.
"He's not a criminal, you misunderstood." Ava retorted.
"He is!" Alexander cut her off, "He's a killer, cold and ruthless. Ava, did he drug you or something?"
Alexander wouldn't listen to a word she said, convinced he was right.
Ava was frantic. She grabbed the gun from Alexander's hand and pointed it at herself, "If you don't stop, I'll shoot myself!"
It was the only way to make Alexander stop.
Alexander stared at her in shock. "Ava, you..."
"Stop, don't shoot anymore!" Ava yelled at everyone.
Everyone froze, not understanding what was going on with Ava.
Seeing Ava threatening her own life, Alexander had no choice but to tell his men, "Put down your guns!"
They lowered their weapons but stayed on high alert; Vincent was still a threat.
"Ava, give me the gun, stop this nonsense," Alexander pleaded.
Ava felt a deep sadness. Even though Alexander was worried about her and came to save her, he wouldn't listen to a word she said.
He was stubborn and self-righteous, and even now he thought she was just being dramatic.
He didn't even try to understand what had really happened.
