Chapter 817 Not Forcing You

Madison was stunned.

She felt like she was staring at her own reflection, realizing just how much she looked like Ava.

'How is this possible?' Madison thought, suddenly piecing things together.

She turned to Eason, shocked.

"Did you find me because I look like Alexander's ex-wife? Was this all part of your plan?" she asked.

A wave of unease washed over her. "Who are you, really?"

"I'm someone who wants to help both Alexander and you. Do you love him?" Eason smirked.

Madison felt uneasy. "I've only known him for a short time. How could I possibly..."

"You love him," Eason cut her off, his eyes piercing. "Don't deny it. I'm not a bad guy. I just don't want to see Alexander hurt again. You saw it when you saved him; he almost died because of Ava and William."

Eason's expression turned serious, his gaze cold.

Madison pressed on, "If you knew, why didn't you save him? Why make me do it? Why should I trust you?"

"Because even if I saved him, he'd just go after Ava again, willing to sacrifice everything for her and get hurt all over. That's why I found you," Eason explained, sorrowful.

"He cut ties with me because I tried to stop him from seeing Ava. I could have saved him, but it wouldn't have changed anything. So, I found you."

Eason leaned in closer. "I've been watching you. You look a lot like Ava. I think you can help him move on."

Madison started trembling, Eason's closeness making her breath quicken.

She curled up in fear. "Why do you think just because I look like her, I can help him forget? He rejected me outright. You've got the wrong person. I can't save him. Find someone else."

Eason insisted, "No, you can save him. It's up to you."

Madison replied, "Even if I want to, he doesn't give me a chance. If you knew what he said to me, you wouldn't have come to me."

Eason said, "I know what he said. Every word."

Madison was shocked. "Are you stalking him?"

Eason replied, "I have to protect him."

Madison asked, "Who are you, really?"

"Don't you believe me? Are you afraid I want to kill Alexander?"

Eason said calmly, "If I wanted to kill him, why would I let you save him? Why go through all this trouble? Everything I do is to save him."

"Ms. Allen, I'm not forcing you. If you don't want to help, this is our first and last meeting. But if you do, we need to work together."

"What's your decision, Ms. Allen?"
