Chapter 954 Disrupting the Plan

Where did it all go wrong?

Was he just not being real enough?

William slumped, feeling like all his strength and hope had drained away.

His fists were clenched so tight, his nails were digging into his skin.

'No way, it can't end like this. It just can't,' William thought.

He and Ava had come so far, and now this guy Vincent showed up out of nowhere, messing up everything.

No freaking way.

The night wrapped around the car, the bulletproof beast cruising steadily down the road.

The car was pitch black, like a silent, fearless giant, glinting with a cold, steely light.

Inside, Ava held Vincent close, her eyes full of worry.

The car was littered with blood-stained bandages.

Outside, the city under the night sky looked like a dream, skyscrapers looming in the darkness.

Streetlights cast faint glows, creating flickering shadows.

People hurried through the streets, their figures flickering in the night, each lost in their own struggles and fears.

Alexander sat beside them, his face heavy and grave, eyes locked on Ava, filled with endless anxiety and pain.

His face was pale, his brows furrowed with helpless sorrow, like a lone boat stuck in a swamp.

"Bishop, you gotta hold on, you can't die." Ava kept checking Vincent's temperature, scared his body would go cold. She took off her coat and wrapped it around him. "You can't die."

Vincent was already out cold, his breathing getting weaker.

"Drive faster!" Ava urged, panicking.

"Ava, we're going as fast as we can. I've called the medical team, they're ready, we'll be there in a few minutes," Alexander said.

Ava gently brushed Vincent's hair from his forehead, tears falling onto him. "I'm sorry, I'm so sorry."

Alexander couldn't stand seeing Ava like this. "Ava, this isn't your fault, you don't need to apologize to him."

"Shut up!" Ava snapped at Alexander, "If you hadn't blown up his place and barged in, he wouldn't be like this! You never listen to me. I trusted you, and this is how you repay me."

"Ava, I'm trying to save him, didn't you choose to trust me?"

When Ava chose to trust him and handed Vincent over, Alexander felt a bit better, at least she didn't trust William.

Ava looked up, tears in her eyes, saying, "Alexander, I put Vincent in your car, not because I trust you."

"What did you say?" Alexander's eyes grew desperate. "You don't trust me?"

"How can I trust you? I've trusted you so many times, but you let me down."

"Then why didn't you give him to William?" Alexander asked.

Ava thought back to that moment.

She didn't hand Vincent over to William.

She chose Alexander not because she fully trusted him, but because she saw the fierce look in William's eyes when he barged in.

Even now, thinking about it, Ava still felt a bit shaken.

It was a fierceness she had never seen in William's eyes before.

Like he wanted to tear Vincent to pieces.
