Chapter 1255 Important Matters
"Then you should know about the last time. I went through a lot of trouble to solve it for you. If you were the one who shot Mia this time, I won't protect you anymore. I will make you pay for it!"
Mandy slapped him.
"Brandon, you do know I'm your mother, right?"
Brandon gritted his teeth, "It's because you're my mother that I defended you last time. If this time..."
"If, you only know how to say if!" Mandy sneered, "If it wasn't me, shouldn't you kneel down and apologize to me?"
"Mom, did you do it or not?" Brandon clenched his fists, every knuckle making a sound, "Tell me the truth!"
"I don't have time for such things. Believe it or not."
Mandy stared at him coldly and said, "You disappoint me so much. Suspecting your mother without any evidence. Is this what you think of me? For an outsider, you think of me like this. It breaks my heart!"
Brandon's clenched fists gradually loosened. Finally, he said, "I hope it really wasn't you."
Brandon turned and left.
As the door closed, Mandy let out a heavy sigh.
"What kind of family is this?"
Either dead or estranged from her.
Suddenly, Mandy seemed to remember something. She grabbed a coat, put it on, and hurried out of the room.
Alexander dropped Ava off downstairs. He wanted to walk her up, but Ava stopped him.
"Alexander, you should go back. I'll go up by myself."
"Ava, let me walk you up."
"No need, I'll go up myself. You go back, drive safely."
Ava got out of the car with Sunny in her arms.
"Ava." Alexander followed her.
"What else do you want?" Ava was clearly impatient. "Go back, stop following me."
"Where did you get those pieces of evidence? Can you tell me?"
Ava thought of the vow she made, bit her lip, and said, "It doesn't matter anymore. The important thing is that the evidence is real. As for where it came from, don't ask. I have my ways."
Ava went upstairs with Sunny in her arms.
Alexander took a few steps back, exhausted, and leaned against the car.
"Ava, what should I do?"
Not long after Alexander drove away, a black sedan stopped downstairs.
The car looked ordinary, like any family car, but the driver was Mandy.
She specifically chose this inconspicuous car.
After arriving downstairs, she found Ava's number and dialed it.
The phone was quickly answered, "Hello."
"It's me." Mandy's voice came through.
Ava found the voice familiar, "Are you Mandy?"
"Yes, it's me. Can you come out? I have something to tell you."
"Sorry, I have nothing to say to you. I'm hanging up."
"Wait." Mandy stopped her, "I have something very important to tell you. If you don't listen, you'll regret it."
"What do you want? Are you threatening me again?" Ava asked.
"It's not a threat, it's a discussion. I promise this is important to you. How about this, I'll come up to you. You open the door for me. I promise I'm alone."
Ava, on the other end of the phone, was silent for a long time.
"Fine, come up."
"Okay, I'm coming up now." Mandy hung up the phone and took a deep breath.
Then, she opened the car door, got out, and walked upstairs.
When she heard the doorbell, Ava opened the door.
Mandy stood outside, still looking as cold as ever.
As soon as the door opened, Mandy walked in, put her bag aside, and sat on the sofa. "Can you get me a glass of water?"
Mandy seemed to be holding something back, a bit nervous.
