Chapter 876 The Winner
This was the tune she and Alexander had used to love listening to. Now he was even dedicating it to another woman.
'Fine, just fine, Alexander, you're a real piece of work. You dedicated Isabella a song, then Madison a song; you can give anything to any other girl,' Ava thought, heartbroken.
They had both agreed to let go, but right now, it was like they were in a showdown. Neither wanted to back down, both trying to make the other hurt, but in the end, they were the ones getting burned.
A clean breakup? No way. The deeper the love, the harder the fall.
Across the table, William could totally sense Ava's stormy feelings.
Even though she tried to keep it cool, William still felt super uneasy.
If she really didn't give a damn about Alexander anymore, she wouldn't be trying so hard to keep it together.
It was 'cause she still cared that she was all worked up.
When the song ended, Ava's hand under the table was shaking.
Right then, Alexander got up and headed to the restroom.
Seeing him move, her eyes just couldn't help but follow him.
William noticed and turned to check it out. "Ava, can you hold Sunny for a sec? I gotta hit the restroom."
Ava nodded, "Sure thing."
William got up and carefully handed Sunny to Ava.
"I'll be right back." With that, he turned and walked towards the restroom.
Alexander walked into the men's room, stood in front of the mirror, turned on the faucet, and splashed his face with cold water, trying to snap out of it.
He almost lost it.
He almost went nuts.
Alexander stood there, silent, thinking about everything that just happened, his willpower crumbling. Just then, the restroom door opened again and William walked in, closing the door behind him.
Alexander turned and saw William, his brow furrowing.
William walked over, stood beside him, and washed his hands.
He looked at himself in the mirror, casually fixed his short hair, and said, "Traveling with your girl, huh? Looks like you two are tight."
Alexander clenched his fists and stood up straight. "You and Ava seem pretty solid too."
"Of course, man. After all, she went through a lot to give me a kid, I gotta love and cherish her. Oh, you wanna know our son's name? Ava asked me to name him."
Alexander's palms felt like they were gripping thorns, digging into his flesh.
He forced down his emotions and smiled slightly, "Really? What's his name?"
"Sunny," William said. "Because that morning the sunlight was beautiful, and the three of us were hugging together, it was a really warm moment."
"Oh, and," William added, "I thought about this name for a long time. Ava told me not to stress, she only wanted me to name our son, no one else. I was really touched."
Every word William said was dripping with provocation, and the smile on his lips was full of pride and disdain for Alexander.
He was the winner.
Alexander forced down the rage in his heart.
