Chapter 290 He's Furious

"I'll go," Ava Anderson replied without hesitation. "Could you send me the company's address? I'll drive over now, and we can meet there."

"We'll go together," Victoria Bennett said. "I'll drive to your place to pick you up. You're pregnant right now, and the baby's safety is the most important thing."

Ava Anderson felt a bit panicky inside. She wasn't in the best state to drive. She lowered her head and gently touched her stomach, saying, "Okay then, I'll send you my address. Thanks for this."

...

In less than half an hour, a red sports car parked downstairs. Victoria Bennett stepped out, looking fashionable in a blue strappy maxi dress with her long hair cascading down her shoulders, and cool sunglasses on her face. She exuded the glamorous aura of someone both beautiful and wealthy.

In contrast, Ava Anderson dressed very simply—a beige linen shirt, denim jeans, white sneakers on her feet, and her hair tied up in a high ponytail, giving her the fresh look of a high school student. Standing next to the stunning Victoria Bennett, Ava did not pale in comparison; each had her own charm.

Victoria Bennett suddenly realized that Ava's appearance was very pleasing to the eye. She was pretty, but not in a way that provoked envy. Ava's beauty was non-aggressive, very easy-going and gentle, like a big sister offering comfort and strong reassurance.

No wonder her brother liked her so much.

Victoria Bennett warmly wrapped an arm around Ava's shoulder, "Let's head out."

Ava Anderson saw the red sports car that Victoria had driven over and couldn't help but joke, "Isn't this a bit... too much?"

"What's too much about it? This is the most low-key car I have," Victoria said nonchalantly.

"The most low-key?"

Ava Anderson was incredulous. If this attention-grabbing red was considered low-key, she wondered just how flashy Victoria's other cars could be.
"Let's go, we need to get in the car and see what's happened to my brother," Victoria Bennett said, removing her sunglasses, her eyes filled with worry.

Ava Anderson looked into Victoria's anxious eyes and nodded. "Okay, let's hurry."

...

The entire office was engulfed in a chilling, solemn air.

William Bennett lazily sat in his office chair, arms folded and legs crossed, casting a cold glance at the group standing before him.

All the top executives of Blue Sky Group stood in front of William, looking like schoolchildren who had not done their homework, under the deadly gaze of their teacher.

They all hung their heads low, not daring to even breathe too loudly.

William hadn't dressed in formal attire that day, choosing a simple gray casual outfit for his appearance at the company.

Yet, his commanding presence seemed to crush the well-dressed executives around him.

The atmosphere felt deathly still.

William grabbed a document from the desk and tossed it forward, scattering the papers across the floor.

"We've been planning this project for so long, and just when it was within our grasp, it gets snatched away by someone else. What are you even here for?" he barked.

Although part of the morning's events could be blamed, he certainly had ample reason to be furious with them now.

No one dared to speak.

"What, no one has anything to say? Have you all gone mute?" William sneered.

"Mr. Bennett, we're sorry," one of the men stepped forward, wiping sweat from his forehead. "There was an unexpected development. Somehow, the other party got wind of inside information, likely through a bribe."
