Chapter 794 Go Abroad

Mia saw William looking down and felt bad. "I can talk to her."

William's eyes lit up a bit. "What did you say?"

"I'll talk to her and suggest she goes abroad with you to help you get your memory back," Mia said.

William always thought Mia had something against him. 'Why would she help me now?' he wondered.

"Don't joke with me," he said.

"I'm not joking. I'm serious," Mia replied.

"Why are you helping me?" William asked.

"For Alexander, for Ava, and so you guys don't get tangled up again," Mia said.

"But what about Ava's grandma? Ava would never leave her to go abroad," William added.

"That's why I need to talk to her," Mia said. "I'll do my best, whether it works or not."

Ava helped Scarlett back to the restaurant, and they sat down again. Ava had worried Mia and William would argue, but it seemed fine.

They chatted for a while, and when it was time to leave, they walked out of the private room. Ava held Scarlett's arm, not wanting to part. She really wanted to go back with her.

In the parking lot, Mia said, "Mom, get in the car first. I'll be right there."

Scarlett, feeling tired, nodded. Mia opened the car door and helped her in carefully. After closing the door, Mia turned to Ava and William. With a complex look, she said, "Can I talk to Ava alone?"

William nodded, and Ava said, "I'll wait for you in the car."

Ava responded, "Go ahead."

Now it was just Mia and Ava.

"Mom, do you have something to talk about?" Ava asked.

"Ava, you've seen Grandma's condition," Mia said.

"Mom, I didn't expect Grandma to be like this. If I had known earlier..." Ava started.

"Even if you had known earlier, you couldn't have stopped it," Mia interrupted. "There's no cure for her illness. It only gets worse. It flared up today again. Her symptoms weren't this bad yesterday, and they might be worse tomorrow."

"Mom, I want to stay with Grandma," Ava said.

Mia held her hand and gently patted it. "The worst thing you can do now is stay with Grandma."

"Why? Grandma needs me," Ava asked.

"She doesn't need you," Mia said. "She doesn't even remember you, so how could she need you?"

"But what if she wants to see me and I'm not there?" Ava said.

"Today, your grandmother told me she met you yesterday and talked a lot. In her memory, you're still a little kid. When she sees you, she doesn't recognize you as Ava. Even if she doesn't see you, don't worry. She'll think she did," Mia explained.

"Even so, I still want to stay with Grandma," Ava insisted.

"Ava, listen to me. In her current state, she is very fragile. If you stay around, she'll feel familiar but won't remember who you are. It's painful for her. It's torture for everyone, including herself," Mia said.

Ava lowered her eyes, tears falling. "What should I do then? Not see her at all?"

"Go abroad," Mia replied.

Ava was shocked. "Mom, what did you say?"
