Chapter 1021 Make It Clean
William asked, "Dad, so I can chill here in Berlyn for now without stressing, right?"
Dalton had way more connections and resources than he did. With Dalton's help, William could definitely dodge the heat.
Dalton replied, "I can cover for you this time, but you gotta be more careful next time. If you're gonna do shady stuff, don't get caught."
William lowered his head, "Got it, I'll be more careful next time."
Dalton stared at him for a long time before asking, "I heard you brought Sunny back."
William nodded, "Yeah, Ava needs to finish her studies there, so I thought I'd bring Sunny back to take care of him. I've been the one looking after Sunny all this time."
Dalton remarked with sarcasm, "Raising another man's kid? You're quite the optimist."
"This is my kid," William said seriously. "Sunny has nothing to do with Alexander anymore. Blood relations don't matter to me; what matters is the time we spend together. This kid sees me as his dad, and I'll be good to him."
"You sure are sentimental," Dalton snorted coldly. "But you better watch out. If one day the Ava changes her mind and takes him away, you'll be the one crying."
"That won't happen," William said. "Dad, don't worry. Sunny is mine, and Ava is mine. I'll do everything to protect them. If anyone tries to take them from me, I'll kill them!"
William's eyes were particularly sharp, revealing a burning flame in his chest.
Dalton squinted slightly, a cold smile playing on his lips, unclear whether it was in approval or mockery.
Dalton said, "William, if that day ever comes, make sure you do it cleanly. Don't leave any evidence behind."
William nodded, "I understand."
Meanwhile, Alexander accompanied Ava for a check-up.
She was anemic after childbirth and had been very tired these days, which almost caused her to faint. She needed to stay in the hospital for an IV.
Alexander arranged a VIP room for her.
Ava said it wasn't necessary, that she could handle it herself, but Alexander insisted.
In the hospital room, Alexander looked up at the IV, which was already halfway done. Ava lay on the bed, her dizziness much relieved.
Ava said, "Thanks, you don't need to stay here with me. I can manage on my own."
Alexander said, "I can't leave now. I don't trust William's guys."
Ava mentioned, "Whether you trust them or not, I've been married to him for a long time, and both me and my baby are safe."
Alexander added, "William has fled back to Berlyn. If he can come back to Stellaria to take care of you, I'll leave."
Ava said, "You know he can't come back."
If William came to Stellaria, he would definitely be wanted.
Alexander said, "Yeah, and I don't trust his guys. So, until you're discharged, stay here, and I'll stay too. If you don't like it, I won't talk."
Ava sighed lightly, "Do as you wish. You should know this won't change anything."
"I'm not trying to change anything," Alexander said, silently staring at the IV in her hand.
Ava was stunned, wanting to say something, but in the end, she remained silent.
